Vietnam successfully upgraded anti-jamming radar

In recent times, Factory Z119 has successfully upgraded a series of radars, including the long-range 55Zh6 and medium-range 1L13-3 radars.

This information was recently published by the Air Defense newspaper, stating that in 2016, the Factory received and repaired 10 radar sets, 32 motorbikes and power stations, 105 measuring devices of all kinds according to legal standards. Acceptance at all levels and handover of 9 radar sets, 27 motorbikes and power stations to the unit for use.

Organize the dismantling, repair, adjustment, and installation of 12 P-18 radar stations and 24 power stations under the "Covering Ball" project on 5 islands. Along with that, the Factory has received and ensured technical factors for the production of improved P-18M radar equipment on the production line in the workshops.

At the same time, serve the acceptance of all levels of the Project "Repair and extend the service life of the 55Zh6 and 1L13-3 warning radar stations" to ensure the correct time. After repair and upgrade, these radars have restored all their superior features, operating more accurately and reliably.

Specifically, the 55Zh6 station, considered one of the best meter-wave VHF radar stations in the world, capable of detecting stealth aircraft at long ranges, is being densely deployed around the capital Moscow (Russia) to provide long-range surveillance and target designation for the S-300/400 air defense missile systems.

55Zh6 has good anti-jamming ability, specialized in detecting space targets (ballistic missiles) on the first and last part of their trajectory and small flying targets with low electromagnetic reflection coefficient such as stealth aircraft, cruise missiles; automatic tracking, distinguishing friend or foe, identifying types, ...

With the target being a fighter plane, when flying at high altitude, it can be "caught alive" by the 55Zh6 from a distance of 400km, while a supersonic cruise missile flying at high altitude cannot escape the scanning range and can be detected from a distance of no less than 300km.

For the 1L13-3 radar, it is a 2-parameter (range and azimuth) medium-range surveillance radar, capable of detecting flying targets, including stealth aircraft and cruise missiles with small radar reflection areas from a distance of up to 330 km and an altitude of up to 40 km.

Radar 1L13-3 with all equipment and organic synchronous independent power generation system is mounted on the chassis of 3-axle off-road trucks such as Ural-4320 or tractor.

The above configuration allows for mobility on any terrain and deployment to any battlefield without prior preparation or having to carry support equipment. The deployment time is relatively fast, no more than 45 minutes, allowing for sudden appearance and launching waves to detect targets in places where the enemy does not expect.
