Vietnam protests China's opening of flight route to airport on Phu Lam island

Regarding the fact that since December 22, 2016, China opened a regular civil flight route to the airport in Phu Lam, Hoang Sa archipelago, on December 23, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Hai Binh stated:

“China’s opening of a civil aviation route to Phu Lam is a serious violation of Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa archipelago. Vietnam has sufficient historical evidence and legal basis to affirm its sovereignty over the Hoang Sa archipelago as well as the Truong Sa archipelago. Vietnam resolutely opposes the above-mentioned action and demands that China stop all activities that violate Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa archipelago”./.
