Vietnam interested in artillery as powerful as T-90
Destroying targets from 6km away and with attack performance equal to the T-90 tank, the Sprut-SDM1 self-propelled gun is considered a worthy choice for Vietnam.

Rosoboronexport expects great interest in this weapon from countries with difficult geographical conditions: rivers, swamps and mountains. In particular, some Southeast Asian countries have shown interest in Sprut-SDM1, the Rosoboronexport press service quoted Mr. Mikheev as saying.
Although this representative did not reveal which specific customers in Southeast Asia are interested in Sprut-SDM1, according to RIA Novosti, Vietnam has shown special interest in this combat vehicle and the two sides have conducted preliminary negotiations. However, this information has not been confirmed by Vietnam.
The manufacturer's representative said that Sprut-SDM1 is a self-propelled artillery equipped by the Russian army for airborne forces with strong firepower, easily destroying enemy tanks and armored vehicles.
This is an upgraded version of the Prut-SD self-propelled anti-tank gun and is known as the tank killer of the Russian army. The vehicle weighs 18 tons, has a crew of 3, an engine capacity of 500 CV, a maximum speed of 70km/h on asphalt, 10km/h when swimming.
The main weapon of the Sprut-SDM1 is the 2A75M 125mm smoothbore gun with an automatic loading system, firing rate of 6 - 8 rounds/minute. What is special is that this gun barrel can be used to launch anti-tank missiles.
The 2A75M gun has the same combat performance as the 2A46M5 gun equipped on the T-72 and T-90 main battle tanks. The gun uses an automatic loading system with a base of 40 rounds, of which 22 are available in the automatic loading system and 18 are reserved in the rear compartment.
What makes the Sprut-SDM1 special is that Russia is developing an upgraded Invar-M anti-tank round to be fired through the gun barrel. This round has a concave tip that can penetrate the explosive reactive armor installed to protect the vehicle.
"When upgrading the 125mm SMD1 self-propelled gun, we installed a digital MSA system combined with a day/night sight that automatically tracks the target for the gunner," the Russian Tractor Manufacturing Complex said. The modern sensor allows the shell to neutralize wind resistance and adjust its direction of travel to hit the target.
In addition to the 125mm main gun, the Sprut-SDM1 is also equipped with a 7.62mm remote-controlled machine gun with 1,000 rounds of ammunition installed on the turret along with reconnaissance equipment.
Compared to previous versions of Sprut-SD, we can easily see the difference because on the roof of Sprut-SDM1 is equipped with an additional 7.62mm remote-controlled machine gun, while Sprut-SD does not have it.
The vehicle is equipped with an automatic target tracking device that allows the gunner and commander to hit targets not only with machine guns but also with missiles at a range of up to 5km. In addition, the Sprut-SDM1 is also equipped with a thermal imaging sighting system that allows operations in all weather conditions.
