Vietnam's drop in the rankings wasn't due to a heavy defeat against Arsenal.

According to the August rankings of the International Football Federation (FIFA), the Vietnamese men's national football team dropped 11 places to 156th in the world, fourth in Southeast Asia and 29th in Asia.

In July, the Vietnamese national team only played one friendly match against Arsenal, suffering a 7-1 defeat. However, in reality, the Vietnamese team did not have any points deducted because this match was not part of FIFA's A-level friendly system.

The reason Vietnam dropped in the rankings is because the national team hasn't played a single match in the past month.

Leading the Southeast Asian rankings this month is Thailand (ranked 137th, up one place). Following closely behind are the Philippines (ranked 141st, up three places) and Singapore (ranked 155th, up one place).

The top 10 in the world remained unchanged, with Spain continuing to lead, followed by Germany, Colombia, Argentina, the Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Croatia, Brazil, and Belgium.

With their 2013 Gold Cup victory, the US team moved up three places to 19th. Meanwhile, England rose one place to 14th.

Meanwhile, in the Asian rankings, Japan remains at number 37 globally. This is followed by Australia, Iran, and South Korea.
