Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that Vietnam is ready to work with the Government and people of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to conduct exchanges and cooperation in various fields for the benefit of the people of the two countries.

On the afternoon of December 1, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho, who is on an official visit to Vietnam.

DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho expressed his deep impression and sincere congratulations on the socio-economic achievements that Vietnam has made in recent times under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam; wishing the Vietnamese people to gain even greater achievements in implementing the guidelines of the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho affirmed the consistent stance of the Party and Government of the DPRK to continue consolidating and developing the traditional friendship between the two countries, a valuable asset built and nurtured by President Kim Il Sung and President Ho Chi Minh; emphasizing the desire to increase exchanges and cooperation in various fields according to the needs and potentials of the two countries, in line with the development of the new situation.

Regarding the situation in North Korea, Minister Ri Yong Ho emphasized that the entire Party and people of North Korea are focusing on implementing the new strategic line on focusing on economic development proposed by Chairman Kim Jong Un and approved at the 3rd Central Conference, 7th term, of the Workers' Party of Korea; at the same time, to build a peaceful environment to serve the goal of economic development, in recent times, Chairman Kim Jong Un has promoted many foreign activities with related countries.

Minister Ri Yong Ho reported to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on the good results of his talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, in which the two sides agreed on specific measures to strengthen and develop the traditional friendship between the two countries in the coming time.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc welcomed DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho's visit to Vietnam; affirmed that the Party, Government and people of Vietnam always attach importance to and wish to consolidate and develop the traditional friendship with the Party, Government and people of the DPRK; and are ready to work with the Government and people of the DPRK to conduct exchanges and cooperation in various fields for the benefit of the people of the two countries, in accordance with international law and the general trend of the times, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc discussed with Minister Ri Yong Ho the reform policy and implementation measures under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam over the past 30 years, including building a socialist-oriented market economy and improving people's lives; and expressed his willingness to share experiences with the DPRK, including expanding foreign economic relations and attracting investment and tourism.
Regarding the situation on the Korean Peninsula, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc welcomed the positive developments on the Korean Peninsula, especially the results achieved at the recent summits between North Korea, the US and South Korea; hoped that North Korea and relevant parties would make the most of dialogue opportunities and be flexible in implementing agreements to create substantive progress in the process of resolving the denuclearization issue on the Korean Peninsula; and emphasized that Vietnam is ready to actively contribute to the dialogue process between North Korea and relevant parties.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc wished Minister Ri Yong Ho and the North Korean delegation a successful visit to Vietnam.
