Vietnam produces P-18M radar combat simulation system
To enhance realistic training, simulation technology (CNMP) is increasingly widely applied in the field of defense education and training.
According to PK-KQ newspaper, Division 377 organizes the exploitation of the technical and tactical features of the equipped weapons and technical equipment. At the same time, it deploys research on technical innovation initiatives, ensuring the improvement of service quality for technical training.
In 2017, the Division's initiative on the software to simulate training on the P-18M fixed radar console on personal computers won the second prize of the Army; the initiative on the device to automatically charge compressed air into the waveguide of the C-75M control station won the third prize of the Army and the consolation prize of the entire army.

The success is the result of the combination of the fields of mathematics, information technology, modeling, cybernetics, electronics, mechanics, etc. Along with the P-18M radar simulation training software, the Military Technical Academy (KTQS) has also successfully developed a "virtual shooting range" model with a small, compact design (installed on an area of 15 m2 to 30 m2).
This system is fully integrated with the features of a real training ground and real weapons, solving common difficulties encountered in the learning and training process.
It is known that in recent years, the Air Defense - Air Force Service has been equipped with many new and modern weapons and equipment. Some old weapons have been improved to increase their lifespan, suitable for high-tech warfare conditions.
However, at present, the Air Defense - Air Force Academy has not been equipped with the weapons, equipment and supplies mentioned above. To overcome these shortcomings, the academy has paid attention to and invested in the application of simulation technology in education and training and scientific research.
In particular, design and manufacture of flight command and navigation training room simulation equipment; firing command training room equipment for anti-aircraft artillery squadron commanders; P-37 radar guidance device equipment...
Simulation of the S-125M1A control station combat crew command post; air defense missile regiment combat command post; S-300PMU-1 missile complex simulation project; UK-10-2TM cabinet simulation initiative of the PK S-125-2TM missile control station…
In particular, the Academy has successfully implemented a Ministry of National Defense-level project on "Research, design and manufacture of practical training equipment for aviation engineers on some Su-27 aircraft systems".
The introduction of the above equipment into training has helped learners to increase their practical training, equipment, and facilities, contributing to improving their qualifications and ability to master equipment after graduation. At the same time, it helps the unit save a part of the training cost, because the manufacturing cost is much lower than that of imported equipment of the same type.
