At the 5-year Review Conference (2013-2018) of implementing Resolution 765-NQ/QUTW of the Central Military Commission, for the first time, the real-looking S-300 inflatable weapon appeared.

The special feature is that the inflatable camouflage device for the S-300 missile complex is identical to the S-300 missile system in the equipment of the Vietnam Air Defense Force.

It is known that before this special weapon appeared, in September 2017, the Acceptance Council of the Air Defense - Air Force Service also organized the acceptance of the inflatable Su-30 model camouflage weapon produced by Factory Z176.

At this event, representatives of Factory Z176 reported on the process and results of research and production of Su-30 aircraft models. The acceptance council assessed and recognized the results of the products meeting the technical standards as required.

After evaluation, the Acceptance Council proposed that the Ministry of National Defense allow production and put into service; at the same time, it proposed that Factory Z176 continue to research and develop other inflatable model products such as: Su-22 aircraft, C125-2TM missile system, warning radar system, etc.

Modern reconnaissance and weapons do not give real technical equipment a chance to survive. Thanks to inflatable models, operators can increase the survival rate of real weapon systems. The enemy will destroy the dummy targets, thus wasting precious time to find real targets.

Not only are these inflatable models, they also simulate the heat and radar signatures of real technical weapons. From the air, the enemy will not detect the fakes, because the models also have engine heat generators, and thanks to the special coating on the fabric, the fake tanks also reflect the enemy's radar waves.

Changing the state of the model from marching to combat also allows to create fakes instead of real targets. For example, a tank rotates the turret, opens the hatch. Inflatable models are gradually replacing plywood products.

It is known that during the Vietnam War, Vietnamese missile troops used S-75 missile models made of pressed steel to deceive the reconnaissance activities of the US Air Force. This tactic was effective in the effort to fight against the US's destructive war.

The use of inflatable models also helps ground forces "show off". Photos obtained from aerial reconnaissance activities will make the enemy panic because of the rapid increase in the number of weapons on the ground.

Another benefit of using inflatable models is that they make the enemy waste bombs and bullets when they attack fake targets. It can be said that using inflatable weapon models to deceive the enemy is a very effective active defense measure even in modern warfare.
