At 4:01 PM (Hanoi time), the Moon will enter the penumbra. The partial phase begins at 5:15 PM, the total phase begins at 6:57 PM and reaches its maximum at 7:00 PM.

According to Mr. Tran Van Long, vice president of the Hanoi Amateur Astronomy Association, the total phase will end at 7:02 PM, and the partial phase at 8:44 PM. The Moon will exit the penumbra at 9:59 PM, and the lunar eclipse will be completely over.

On April 4th, the weather will be favorable for observing the event. The Hanoi Amateur Astronomy Association will organize an observation session for its members and astronomy enthusiasts, tentatively scheduled outside the My Dinh National Stadium.

According to Long's experience, astronomy enthusiasts can observe a total lunar eclipse with the naked eye, but viewing it through binoculars or a telescope will be more enjoyable. Viewers should choose a spacious area free from tall buildings, with fresh air and away from artificial light.

In 2014, astronomy enthusiasts in Vietnam observed a similar phenomenon on October 8th. The next partial lunar eclipse in Vietnam will take place on August 8th, 2017. A total lunar eclipse will occur a year later, on January 31st, 2018.
