In a related development, speaking to the Korean media, representative Lee Dong-jun expressed his wish for Mr. Park to receive greater benefits and privileges. "Coach Park's outstanding achievements are obvious. He deserves a salary increase and higher benefits compared to his old contract," Lee told Chosun.
The representative also expressed hope: "I want him to be treated fairly, but we have to consider Vietnam's financial capacity."
The contract between Coach Park and VFF is valid until January 2020. According to the extension clause, the two sides will negotiate in the last 3 months of the contract, coinciding with the time when U22 Vietnam participates in SEA Games 30.
VFF President Le Khanh Hai recently affirmed that the organization is capable of providing a new salary for the Korean coach. Mr. Park will likely receive a record salary for a coach leading the Vietnamese national team.

Argentina entered the final match of Group B with a very clear goal: to beat Qatar to qualify for the Copa America quarter-finals. Lionel Messi and his teammates have successfully completed that goal.
It took just four minutes for the Tango dancers to find the opening goal against their Asian guests. Lautaro Martinez punished a poor pass from centre-back Bassam Hisham with a shot that burned the Qatar net, giving Argentina the lead.

The early goal boosted Argentina’s morale and allowed them to dominate Qatar. However, coach Lionel Scaloni and his team were also startled when Bassam Hisham’s free kick hit the post in the 45+1 minute.
It was not until the end of the match that Argentina found the decisive goal. In the 82nd minute, Sergio Aguero left the Qatar defenders in the dust and shot diagonally, sealing a 2-0 victory for Argentina.
In the same match, Colombia won 1-0 against Paraguay thanks to the only goal of Gustavo Cuellar in the 31st minute. Thus, Colombia ranked first in Group B with a perfect record and will meet the second team of Group C in the quarter-finals of Copa America.
Meanwhile, Argentina finished second in Group B with four points and will face Venezuela in the quarter-finals. Paraguay, with only two points, will have to hold their breath waiting for the results of the final Group C match to see if they can make it to the quarter-finals as one of the two best third-placed teams.
The first ticket among the third-placed teams has officially belonged to Peru, the team with 4 points after 3 matches in Group A.
Man City breaks Harry Maguire transfer record
The Mirror reported that Maguire is ignoring the Red Devils and is ready to join the reigning champions Man "Blue" for a record fee of 80 million pounds. If the contract is completed, this 26-year-old player will surpass Virgil van Dijk to become the most expensive defender on the planet.
Man City showed great dominance in the above deal when offering Maguire a 5-year contract, accompanied by a sky-high salary of 280,000 pounds/week.
Although his contract with Leicester is until 2023, Harry Maguire revealed that the offer from the Etihad team was too difficult to refuse. He himself is very excited about the prospect of working with coach Pep Guardiola.

Leicester was also quite clever in taking full advantage of the interest from the two "big guys" of Manchester to push the price of Harry Maguire to the highest possible level.
Guardiola sees Maguire as the ideal replacement for former captain Kompany, who left Man City to return to work in his homeland.
Maguire himself is ambitious. He believes that The Citizens will help him conquer noble titles and fulfill his dream of playing in the Champions League.
It is expected that this week, Harry Maguire will undergo a medical examination and officially debut his new shirt.
Will Vietnam co-host the 2034 World Cup?
The Bangkok Post confirmed that on June 23, during the ASEAN leaders' meeting, the issue of Southeast Asian countries jointly campaigning to host the 2034 World Cup will be thoroughly discussed. A day earlier, on June 22, Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai confirmed that all ASEAN countries (except East Timor) had agreed to join hands to campaign to bring the 2034 World Cup to Southeast Asia.
If this becomes a reality, this will be the first time the World Cup is held in Asia. Previously, the number 1 tournament on the planet was held in Korea and Japan in 2002, Qatar will host the 2022 World Cup.

Will Vietnam co-host the 2034 World Cup? |
The 2026 World Cup will be hosted by North American countries, the United States, Canada and Mexico. Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay are expected to join forces to host the 2030 World Cup. ASEAN countries will compete fiercely with rival Egypt in the race for the right to host the 2034 World Cup.
Normally, the host countries of the World Cup will automatically have a place in this tournament. If FIFA agrees to let ASEAN countries host the 2034 World Cup, 10 countries in this region will have a place in the world's number 1 football tournament. This is a condition that is not easy for FIFA member countries to accept.
