According to a report by the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), Vietnam consumed 16,149 cars in September, a 29% increase compared to August.

Specifically, compared to the previous month, passenger car sales in September 2014 reached 10,511 units, an increase of 30%, and truck sales reached 5,638 units, an increase of 25%. Of these, 11,232 vehicles were domestically assembled and 4,917 were imported vehicles.

According to VAMA's statistical report, in September, most VAMA members saw a significant increase in sales compared to the same period in 2013. Specifically, Truong Hai Auto Corporation surpassed Toyota Vietnam to lead in sales volume with 4,195 units, a 69% increase compared to the same period last year and accounting for nearly 32.5% of VAMA's market share. Meanwhile, Toyota Vietnam only sold 3,747 vehicles, an increase of 797 vehicles compared to the same month last year, and dropped to second place after two consecutive months of leading.

The next best-selling car brands in Vietnam in September were: Ford with 1,390 units, Honda with 769 units, General Motors with 445 units…
