Within the framework of the recent military-political conference, the Ministry of National Defense displayed many modern weapons domestically produced by Vietnam.

As scheduled, every time the military-political conference to deploy new year tasks and summarize the old year takes place, many types of modern weapons, equipment, and military equipment are gathered in the Ministry of National Defense campus to be exhibited to delegates.

The new feature of this year's exhibition is the large proportion of weapons produced or improved by Vietnam itself placed in the most central and solemn position instead of imported products from abroad, marking a remarkable development step of Vietnam's defense industry.

The first thing that attracted attention was the T-54M main battle tank, which Vietnam upgraded itself using technology transferred from Israel, but we have made some of our own improvements according to practical requirements, such as keeping the 100mm D-10T2S gun and only adding insulation or adding domestic explosive reactive armor.

After completing the modernization of some test models, it is expected that in the near future, a large number of T-54/55s and Type 59s will be upgraded according to the above configuration to better assume the role of supporting the modern T-90S/SK.

Helmet with radio for tank crew produced by Viettel

Another detail worth noting is that tank drivers no longer use the traditional Soviet/Russian helmets but instead use hard hats with integrated radios, a product of the Viettel Military Industry and Telecommunications Group.

According to the assessment, this new type of helmet provides a better level of protection, along with greater convenience and aesthetics, and is also synchronized with communication equipment on tanks produced and integrated by Vietnam.

Vietnam's low-altitude mobile air defense missile system

Another weapon that has attracted much attention is a low-altitude mobile air defense missile system mounted on a wheeled off-road truck chassis researched and manufactured by Vietnam.

A quick look from the outside shows that the combat module is equipped with an optical-electronic reconnaissance system with a thermal imaging sight made in Vietnam. The main weapon of this complex is the Igla shoulder-fired air defense missile system, also manufactured by us under license from Russia.

In addition, we can also see the power station as well as the remote control mechanism for the combat module, showing that this is a quite modern weapon, helping to greatly enhance the air defense capabilities of infantry units against threats from enemy air attack vehicles.
