The match took place on the afternoon of October 27th, with Laos leading Group B and Vietnam finishing second in Group A.

Before the match, coach Dang Quoc Hung predicted that this would be a very difficult opponent, and that proved to be true. In a closely contested game, it was only thanks to the outstanding performance of key striker Bui Tran Tuan Anh that the Vietnamese team secured a narrow 3-2 victory.

Tuan Anh's opponent – currently leading the top scorer list with 11 goals – and his teammates in the final on the afternoon of October 29th is the Malaysian team. The host team caused an upset by defeating title contender Thailand 3-2 in extra time of the other semi-final match.

The first Southeast Asian Beach Soccer Championship 2014 took place from October 23 to 29 in Kuantan City, Pahang State (Malaysia).
