Vietnam in top 20 'Beauty Nations 2017'
My Linh's Top 40 position at Miss World and Huyen My's Top 10 position at Miss Grand International helped Vietnam rank 19th.
On December 6, Global Beauties announced the list of Beauty Nations in 2017, based on the achievements of countries in five major competitions: Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International, Miss Grand International, Miss Supranational. This is an annual ranking, aiming to re-evaluate countries and territories in the beauty arena.

Although Vietnam had an unsuccessful year, it still made it into the Top 20 with 4.4 points, behind beauty powerhouses such as Venezuela, Indonesia, Colombia, Philippines...
Vietnam's score includes 2.1 points from Nguyen Tran Huyen My's Top 10 Miss Grand International achievement, 1.3 points from My Linh when she entered the Top 40 Miss World and won the "Charity Project" sub-award, and 1 point thanks to Khanh Phuong's Top 25 Miss Supranational.

This year, Venezuela was named “Country of the Year” with 13.9 points, although no beauty was crowned in all five contests. However, the girls from this country all achieved high rankings. Venezuela got 1.2 points in Miss World (Top 40 achievement), 3.6 points in Miss Universe (Top 5), 5 points in Miss Grand International (1st runner-up), 4 points in Miss International (2nd runner-up) and 0.1 point in Miss Supranational (Best Evening Gown).
Indonesia and Colombia ranked second and third with 12.92 points and 12.20 points respectively. The top 10 also included South Africa, India, Philippines, South Korea, Peru, Thailand, and Jamaica.
