Vietnam exports 60,000 moon cakes to the US
At a press conference on the moon cake market, a business representative said that 60,000 Vietnamese moon cakes have been exported to the US.
Mr. Kao Sieu Luc, representative of a confectionery company in Ho Chi Minh City, said that this company has exported its first batch of moon cakes to the US market.
This is not only good news for Mr. Luc's business but also a great encouragement for the Vietnamese confectionery industry.

Sad that Vietnamese moon cakes are not as respected as those from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, etc., Mr. Luc went back to research and study how to make moon cakes that suit the taste of foreigners.
“After a long time of making different types of cakes, I sent the new Tiramisu mooncake to the American guests. After eating it, they did not believe that Vietnamese people could make such delicious cakes. The American guests decided to order it right away. At that time, I was extremely happy because our mooncakes were accepted,” said Mr. Luc.
Mr. Luc shared that the American partner had ordered his company to produce 60,000 high-quality moon cakes with 5 different flavors. The moon cakes were loaded into containers on the night of August 7 for export to the US market.

According to Mr. Luc, in addition to being creative in making the cake filling, applying modern machinery and technology in production is also a factor that helps Vietnamese moon cakes reach out to the world market.
The specialized mooncake production machines were designed and assembled by Mr. Luc and his colleagues themselves because they could not be purchased abroad. Using machines and technology helps the quality control of mooncakes become more accurate and convenient.
This year, many unique mooncakes will be launched to the market such as: pepper chicken mooncakes; Bakkwa style grilled chicken mooncakes; lotus seed mooncakes with chia seeds and dried apricots; Lava mooncakes... The "giant" mooncakes will also be launched to the market, each weighing 3kg.
Besides, moon cakes with traditional fillings such as: shark fin roasted chicken, Hambon roasted chicken, green tea with red beans, sticky rice with green beans... will still "appear" in moon cake stalls.

The representative of the BSA Center commented that the moon cakes of Mr. Kao Sieu Luc's company being exported to the US in large quantities is a very optimistic and proud signal. This shows that Vietnamese businesses are constantly learning and innovating to "step" into the world market in a strong, confident and convincing way./.
