Viet Tan pulls the strings of inciting disturbances in Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City police have sufficient grounds to determine that Viet Tan organization has been pulling the strings to direct the incitements to disrupt security and order in the city center.
According to Ho Chi Minh City Police, the two gatherings that caused trouble on May 1 and May 8 were linked between domestic elements and reactionary exiles abroad, specifically the exiled reactionary organization Viet Tan. The few participants were followers and were lured in.

These subjects are said to have taken advantage of public anger over the environmental incident that caused unusual fish deaths in the Central provinces, which the Government and relevant ministries and agencies are urgently trying to investigate, handle and resolve. From there, they incited and directed public opinion to cause trouble, serving their dark intentions. |
Through initial investigation, Ho Chi Minh City Police have sufficient grounds to say that Viet Tan has been pulling the strings to direct the disturbances in security and order in recent days. Accordingly, this reactionary organization organized groups to carry out different tasks such as: preparing bread and drinks for the rioters; distributing money to the subjects directly involved in the disturbances...
During the disturbance on May 8, the participants acted aggressively, even using pepper spray to attack the forces on duty. Four members of the Youth Volunteer Force (YVSF) were injured.
The instigators and rioters then used social networking sites to threaten the authorities with the announcement of a “reward” of 5 million VND for anyone who could track down any police officers or Youth Volunteers who participated in maintaining order (which they called preventing protests); and 20 million VND for anyone who could track down any “assaulters”.
According to the source, a member of the Youth Volunteer Force was threatened and vandalized at home by strangers. The police are currently investigating.
Ho Chi Minh City police determined that hostile forces have lured minors and people with many criminal records to serve their purposes.
A typical example is Huynh Thanh P (born in 1999, from An Giang, currently living as a vagrant in Ho Chi Minh City). P had two previous convictions for “theft of property”, and was lured and enticed by a political opportunist with sweet talk into an organization called “human rights association” to turn P into an active person posting articles against the Party and the State, and P directly participated in causing trouble with an aggressive and reckless attitude.
People need to be calm and clear-headed.
The intention of the exiled reactionary organization Viet Tan is to take advantage of the public's anger related to the phenomenon of dead fish in the Central region, the cutting down of trees along Ton Duc Thang Street... to gather into crowds to cause trouble, aiming to disrupt the election of deputies to the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels on May 22.
According to Ho Chi Minh City Police, the anti-government forces consider the disturbances in recent days as a "rehearsal" waiting for an opportunity to create an event, turning it into a large-scale riot...
Initially, the police exposed the tricks of reactionary forces in exile both abroad and in the country in "hunting" members to serve their sabotage plans.
Accordingly, they approach people with weak awareness, limited knowledge, difficult circumstances or those with negative thoughts about certain issues, to gradually stuff them with fabricated stories, provide money or promises, then create "puppets", assign specific tasks for the purpose of opposing and causing political disturbances.
Ho Chi Minh City Police predict that on Sunday, May 15 and in the coming time, the situation of hostile forces inciting disturbances in Ho Chi Minh City will be complicated.
Therefore, the government recommends that people stay calm and live responsibly towards the country by not participating in disturbances and incitements; and bluntly say “no” to distorted arguments that serve the destructive intentions of opposing forces and reactionary organizations in exile.
Every citizen needs to demonstrate his or her wisdom, life and political courage, understanding and knowledge of the law, and trust in our Party and State; and should not listen to incitement or provocation to make the situation more complicated.
Each person should show that they are educated patriots, not turn themselves into "puppet" for the forces pulling the strings, serving dark plots, and blindly opposing the Party and the State.
