Vietjet Air impressed by Nghe An's speed and investment attraction methods

According to Ms. Thao, since Vietjet took off, changes have come to the Vietnamese aviation industry, with millions of people flying on new and modern planes for the first time. Vietjet is modern and professional, making the Vietnamese aviation industry known worldwide as an open environment, ready for integration.

Over the past 5 years, Vietjet has continuously contributed to the development of the aviation and tourism industry. In 2015, Vietjet celebrated the upgrading of Vinh Airport by welcoming its 10 millionth passenger. This year, the airline welcomed over 35 million passengers, and Vinh Airport is currently overloaded, preparing for a new upgrade and expansion plan.

The head of low-cost airline Vietjet shared that, in addition to air transport business and tourism promotion, Vietjet sets goals to attract foreign investment and finance, attract aircraft and aviation component manufacturing to Vietnam's industrial zones, attract foreign investment activities in aircraft technical maintenance facilities, world-class training academies in the region, etc.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao also reviewed the positive results in the process of implementing transportation business activities at Vinh International Airport: “We launched the first flight on November 15, 2013, currently operating 4 routes to and from Vinh to Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, Pleiku and charter flights to Bangkok. We have operated approximately 10,000 safe flights to Vinh, transporting approximately 1.8 million passengers. In 2016 alone, we operated 4,688 safe flights with 736,000 passengers, an increase of approximately 50% compared to 2015, accounting for approximately 45% of the number of passengers arriving and departing at Vinh Airport”.

“We appreciate and are very impressed with the speed and method of attracting investment in Nghe An province. We congratulate the investors who have succeeded and are trying to come to Nghe An,” Ms. Thao added.

The Chairman of Vietjet Air pledged to continue expanding and increasing the frequency of domestic and international flights to Nghe An province, as this is the central destination of the North Central region.

She emphasized: "Vietjet is ready to accompany investment attraction programs and is ready to participate in investment calling projects of the province."
