Viettel unexpectedly announced that Mocha has surpassed 1 million users.

Launched in late April, the free messaging app Mocha Messenger has continuously introduced unique features and has now reached over 1 million users.

Sharing his thoughts on this milestone, Mr. Vo Thanh Hai, Director of the Media Center - Viettel Telecom (the unit that developed the Mocha Messenger application), said: "This is not a huge number, but it is a strong encouragement for a newly launched application in the context of the OTT market in Vietnam, which has begun to establish order."

Currently, the Mocha app is considered to have several features that appeal to users, such as: Voice stickers, Message recall, Music listening together, Listening with strangers, Money transfer, etc.

In particular, the internal SMS Out policy, which allows Viettel subscribers using Mocha to send free messages to all other Viettel subscribers, regardless of whether they have installed the app or not, is receiving great support from young people. Other messaging apps currently do not have this feature or policy.

Mocha is now available on iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. With a rapidly growing user base, Mocha affirms that its immediate goal as an OTT platform is to continue upgrading and focusing on useful features to provide a better product experience.

Besides Vietnam, Mocha is reportedly expanding strongly into international markets. On September 12th, the app launched in Haiti with the participation of numerous well-known artists from that country.

Following Haiti, Mocha is expected to be launched in the US market. Currently, Mocha allows registration in nearly 200 countries and territories. Therefore, this OTT platform has integrated a translation feature to support users in over 90 languages.

Despite being a later launch and competing with established rivals like Zalo, Viber, and Facebook Messenger, Mocha has proven to be highly innovative, constantly updating its product with unprecedented features. Currently, the application has made it into the Top favorite apps on the Apple Store, Google Play, and Windows Store.
