Vinamilk honored with major awards at the 2022 Global CSR&ESG Conference

The conference is held for the 14th time and is the first time held in Vietnam. This also shows the international community's recognition of Vietnam's efforts and positive actions in the process of promoting ESG (Environment - Society - Governance) and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) investment. ESG practices in businesses are creating increasingly greater values ​​for society and require close coordination from many parties. This is also the reason why 2022 is also the first year that the Organizing Committee of the Conference has emphasized ESG in all program content and awards.

Themed “Beyond Net Zero & ESG”, the Global CSR & ESG Conference is held as a forum to raise issues and challenges, discuss and explore typical ESG and CSR strategies. The conference was attended by more than 200 guests and more than 25 speakers who are ESG experts from government agencies, organizations, investment funds, businesses... from many countries around the world.

Contributing to the topic "Beyond Net Zero & ESG", Vinamilk brought a presentation on the Vinamilk Green Farm Ecological Farm model and the roadmap to build a sustainable dairy farming industry. Starting from a country with no advantages in dairy farming, up to now, in Vietnam, Vinamilk alone has 13 international standard farms nationwide, managing a herd of more than 160,000 cows.

At the 3 Vinamilk Green Farms officially launched by Vinamilk in 2021, this enterprise has clearly applied the thinking of circular economy, regenerative agriculture, and technology application to minimize environmental impact, regenerate resources, reduce emissions, and protect the ecosystem. At the same time, sustainable development practices such as ensuring animal welfare, building a chain to promote the local economy, 100% of Vinamilk's farms have used solar energy and energy from Biogas to reduce emissions, moving towards the goal of carbon neutrality according to the established roadmap.

As a pioneer in building advanced production and breeding models, Vinamilk has always boldly accepted initial difficulties and challenges; gradually improving and perfecting the production process towards sustainability, environmental friendliness and emission balance. In the coming time, we will replicate the Vinamilk Green Farm model to widely disseminate this superior production technology throughout the system, bringing a friendly breeding environment for both humans and animals. Thereby creating superior quality products to serve consumers and contributing to the sustainable development of the community.

Vinamilk Green Farm is an ecological farm that raises livestock using a high-tech agricultural model operating according to a closed circular economy.

Professor - Dr. Geoffrey Williams, Chairman of the Award Jury, commented that the Vinamilk Green Farm ecological farm model is a breakthrough and has comprehensively approached sustainable aspects. “Vinamilk's programs are always innovative, continuously improved from year to year, and are systematically built and managed. The company is also transparent in disclosing information about the program's impact, influence and benefits to stakeholders…”, the professor commented.

Vinamilk was also honored in the category of enterprises with the most outstanding community activities in Vietnam in 2022. Especially during the pandemic, Vinamilk contributed more than 100 billion VND to the Government's epidemic prevention activities, contributed to the Vaccine Fund, supported frontline medical forces, supported the community and cared for and protected children during the Covid-19 pandemic. Vinamilk's Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund program has reached the 15-year milestone of providing nutritional care for more than 500,000 Vietnamese children. This dairy company has also been honored in the Top 10 sustainable development enterprises in Vietnam for 6 consecutive times.

The new challenges of the global economy have been causing many impacts. That context has made "Sustainable Development" truly become the goal and great concern of all countries. The presentations at the conference also said that these are extremely challenging goals, but they are also the motivation for countries and businesses to focus on building their own sustainable development strategies. In which, there needs to be a proactive and pioneering role of businesses, along with incentive and support policies from the Government, the cooperation of local communities, and the participation of stakeholders in the entire supply chain, thereby creating an overall impact on the community and moving towards sustainable development goals.
