Vinamilk supports 2 billion VND for flood victims in Ha Tinh and Quang Binh

(Baonghean.vn)- During 3 days from October 21 to 23, Vinamilk coordinated with Tien Phong Newspaper to organize a delegation to visit and hand over to people affected by floods in Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces a total amount of 2 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tu - Chief of Office, Chairman of Vinamilk Trade Union, representing the company, presented relief gifts to people from households that suffered heavy losses in the recent floods in Cam Xuyen district, Ha Tinh.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tu - Chief of Office, Chairman of the Trade Union of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) said that this is the amount of money that all 10,000 officers and employees of Vinamilk spent one day's salary to donate and share the difficulties with people in flood-hit areas.

“As soon as we heard the news of the floods in the North Central provinces, causing great human and material losses to farmers, all officers and employees of Vinamilk Company voluntarily supported the people affected by the storm and flood with at least one day's salary. We hope that the timely support of the Company's officers and employees will help people overcome the immediate damage and provide spiritual encouragement for people to have more motivation to overcome difficulties, quickly restore production and soon stabilize their lives,” Mr. Tu shared.

Representatives of Vinamilk and Tien Phong newspaper presented a savings book of 15 million VND to the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan (Group 1, Dai Nai Ward, Ha Tinh City), who passed away due to a boat capsize during the recent flood, to help her two children continue to go to school.

For many years, upholding the tradition of mutual love and support of the Vietnamese people, Vinamilk staff have always proactively and promptly helped people affected by natural disasters and floods to overcome difficulties and losses. On this occasion, the delegation presented 1,800 gifts to people affected by natural disasters in Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces, each worth 1,000,000 VND.

Specifically, in Ha Tinh province, the delegation presented 900 gifts to 900 households: Cam Xuyen district presented 200 gifts to severely damaged households in 6 communes including Cam My, Cam Due, Cam Thach, Cam Quan, Cam Thanh and Cam Vinh; Vu Quang district presented 300 gifts to severely damaged households in 3 communes Duc Huong, Duc Lien and Duc Bong; Huong Khem district presented 400 gifts to households in two communes Ha Linh (200 gifts) and Huong Thuy (200 gifts).

In Quang Binh, the delegation will present 900 gifts, each worth 1,000,000 VND, to severely damaged households in 9 communes in the southern area of ​​Ba Don town, including: Quang Van, Quang Minh, Quang Son, Quang Loc, Quang Tan, Quang Trung, Quang Tien, Quang Hoa, and Quang Thuy.

In addition, Vinamilk reserved 200 million VND to support especially difficult cases that suffered heavy losses in human lives and property in storms and floods. On the first day in Cam Xuyen district, Ha Tinh, the delegation presented 3 cases, namely: a savings book of 20 million VND to the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan (group 1, Dai Nai ward, Ha Tinh city) who passed away due to a boat capsize during the recent floods, to help her 2 young children continue to go to school; presented 6 million VND to Nguyen Thi Thai, born in 1999, an orphan whose mother is seriously ill, who has leukemia, and whose family is very poor, living in village 4, Cam Thach commune, Cam Xuyen district, Ha Tinh; 5 million VND was given to Mrs. Nguyen Thi Lan, 73 years old, raising 2 children alone in village 1, Cam Thach commune, Cam Xuyen district, Ha Tinh - Mrs. Lan's 2 grandchildren: 1 is in grade 2 and 1 is in grade 4, the children's father died in a traffic accident, the mother has to go to Hanoi to work.

From October 21 to 23, Vinamilk organized a delegation to directly provide relief to people in flooded areas of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh and donated milk and 2 billion VND in cash.

The kindness of Vinamilk staff and other benefactors joining hands to support flood victims to overcome the consequences of natural disasters has moved the people.
