Vinamilk increases more than 2,000 high-yielding dairy cows imported from the US

(Baonghean.vn) - Vinamilk has just received more than 2,000 dairy cows from the US to supplement its Tay Ninh dairy farm.

Thus, up to this point, the dairy farm in Tay Ninh has had a total of nearly 5,000 high-yielding dairy cows and has become Vinamilk's largest dairy farm, applying high technology with a total area of ​​up to 700 hectares.

After undergoing a rigorous selection process by skilled and experienced experts from Vinamilk and its partners, all of the cows imported this time are purebred American Holstein Friesian heifers with the ability to produce more than 14,000 liters of milk per cycle according to data obtained from the mother cows. This is the second batch of cows imported from the US to the Vinamilk dairy farm in Tay Ninh, which has a land area of ​​up to 700 hectares with a professionally invested barn system, applying high technology, and a modern cooling fan system that will provide the most favorable living environment to improve the milk production capacity of the cows. According to the plan, the Vinamilk Tay Ninh farm will have more cow imports to increase the total herd to 8,000 cows in 2017.

In Vinamilk's business and development strategy, investing in dairy farms and proactively sourcing fresh milk is an important strategic goal and a long-term direction to help Vinamilk improve quality and increase the localization rate of raw materials. Currently, the total herd of cows supplying milk to the company, including Vinamilk's farms and farmers who have signed contracts to sell milk to Vinamilk, is more than 120,000 cows, providing about 750 tons of raw fresh milk per day to produce fresh milk products.

With the plan to develop new farms, the company will increase the total number of Vinamilk cows from farms and households to about 160,000 in 2017 and about 200,000 in 2020, with the expected milk material output by 2020 to more than double, at 1,500 - 1,800 tons/day, ensuring an abundant supply of pure fresh milk products for millions of Vietnamese families.

With the desire to bring the highest quality products, Vinamilk constantly improves machinery and technology, while expanding the scale and especially improving the quality of raw fresh milk sources. The event of welcoming more than 2,000 cows from the US to Vinamilk Tay Ninh dairy farm this time is a new milestone, affirming Vinamilk's commitment to ensure the sustainable development of the milk processing industry, constantly reaching world standards.

Up to now, Vinamilk has a system of 10 operating farms, all of which are large-scale with all cows imported from Australia, the US, and New Zealand. The Vinamilk farm system spread across Vietnam is proud to be the first farm in Southeast Asia to meet the international standards of Global Good Agricultural Practices (Global GAP) and European-standard organic dairy farms certified by Control Union. Along with a system of international standard factories spread across Vietnam, Vinamilk always ensures that raw fresh milk from the farms is quickly transported to processing factories, ensuring that the delicious taste and nutrients from milk in the products are optimally preserved. In the coming years, Vinamilk plans to continue to import high-yielding cows from the US, Australia, and New Zealand to meet the breeding needs of new farms.
