Vinamilk continues to launch the journey of 'Vietnam Rising Milk Fund'

(Baonghean.vn) - 2017 marks the 10-year milestone of the establishment of the "Vietnam Rising Milk Fund" established by Vinamilk in collaboration with the Vietnam Children's Fund. To kick off the 10th consecutive year of milk giving, on August 7, 2017, in Duy Trinh commune, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam, Vinamilk and the Vietnam Grow Milk Fund held a ceremony to give 46,500 glasses of milk to more than 600 students, representing children of Quang Nam province.

The program was attended by Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Mr. Dinh Van Thu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, representatives of the Children's Support Fund and Ms. Bui Thi Huong - CEO of Vinamilk.

Quang Nam is a land rich in cultural traditions with two world cultural heritages: Hoi An ancient town and My Son sanctuary. Quang Nam is also a land of outstanding people, the birthplace of many outstanding children of the country. Like many other localities in the beloved Central region, Quang Nam has the advantage of diverse geography including forests, seas and plains, rich natural resources, but this place often has to withstand harsh weather conditions, the destruction of natural disasters, storms and floods. Moreover, because the economy is mainly agricultural, the lives of people in many remote areas still face many difficulties. This also makes nutritional care for children limited.

With the desire to contribute to improving the nutritional status of Quang Nam children in particular and Vietnamese children in general, the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund decided to choose Quang Nam as the starting point for the milk giving journey in 2017. The program donated 46,500 glasses of milk equivalent to 300 million VND to 600 students here with the hope that they will have the opportunity to develop better both physically and mentally.

The students had the opportunity to play with their friends and immerse themselves in the extremely exciting atmosphere of the milk giving ceremony. The innocent smiles of the children when participating in the interesting activities of the program, when drinking glasses of nutritious milk are the motivations that make the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund more determined to continue on its passionate and meaningful journey.

The Vietnam Grow Tall Milk Fund was established in 2008 under the leadership of the Vietnam Children's Fund, under the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, with the continuous support of Vinamilk with a very noble mission, which is to ensure the right to drink milk every day of Vietnamese children, so that they have the conditions to develop comprehensively in both physical and mental aspects. With 1.4 million glasses of milk equivalent to 9 billion VND, the VCVN Milk Fund gave to 16,000 children in 2017, the total number of glasses of milk that the program gave during the 10-year journey is 31.5 million with a total value equivalent to nearly 130 billion VND.gto nearly 400 thousand disadvantaged children in Vietnam. The program has brought millions of warm cups of milk with love to all provinces and cities across the country, from Ha Giang - the northernmost point of the country to the southernmost point of Ca Mau.

The students were extremely excited with the fun outdoor games and the comedy and magic performances of the funny clown.

As the sole sponsor of the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund program for the past 10 years, representative of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company Vinamilk, Ms. Bui Thi Huong - CEO of the company shared: “Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund is one of the community programs that Vinamilk has always been passionate about implementing over the past 10 years. “For every child to drink milk every day” is the mission that Vinamilk always aims for and wishes to dedicate to all Vietnamese children. This 10-year journey has had many difficulties, but will certainly continue to reach more disadvantaged children. The achievements we have made will be the motivation for us to continue promoting and expanding the program. So that more children across Vietnam will benefit from the Milk Fund, because they have the right and deserve to grow up.”

In addition to the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund, in 2017, Vinamilk was also the pioneer in implementing the School Milk program from the 2006-2007 school year with a total budget of nearly 100 billion VND for the program, equivalent to nearly 40 million milk boxes for 500,000 preschool and primary school students in provinces and cities such as Bac Ninh, Dong Nai, Vung Tau... to enhance the physical and intellectual potential of students.
