Vinamilk provides healthcare advice for the elderly in Central Vietnam.
(Baonghean) - With the goal of being a leading nutrition expert providing comprehensive healthcare for the elderly, Vinamilk recently collaborated with the Consumer Rights Protection Associations of various provinces to organize a workshop on "Disseminating the Law on Consumer Rights Protection and Healthcare for the Elderly" in Khanh Hoa, Da Nang, and Quang Nam provinces. Over 1,500 delegates representing elderly consumers from Khanh Hoa, Da Nang, and Quang Nam provinces attended.
The workshop was organized to help consumers understand and effectively implement the Law on Consumer Rights Protection. It aimed to raise awareness and educate consumers about their rights and obligations as stipulated by law. It also provided information and advice to consumers on how to use milk correctly and choose the right types. Furthermore, it facilitated consumer access to manufacturers to present and exchange information about products and services.
Besides children, protecting, caring for, and improving the health of the elderly is one of Vinamilk's top priorities, aiming to help the elderly have better health, a higher quality of life, and continue to contribute their abilities and experience to society.

At the seminar, Vinamilk also organized bone density testing for consumers in various provinces. Bone density testing helps consumers detect and prevent osteoporosis, enabling them to promptly supplement with specific nutritional products and dairy products; and to adopt a reasonable diet, lifestyle, and exercise regimen… to help the elderly improve their health, increase their lifespan, and live longer with their children and grandchildren.
Dr. Nguyen Huu Toan (Former Head of the Nutrition Department, Cho Ray Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City) advised local elderly people on issues related to protecting and caring for their health, especially on the topic of "Milk and the health of the elderly." Dr. Toan stated that nutritional disorders are increasingly common among the elderly, leading to increased rates of acute and chronic diseases, complications, reduced life expectancy, higher mortality rates, and decreased quality of life. Milk and dairy products are a special source of nutrition, a complete and diverse compound. Milk contains many components such as: Protein; Whey Protein; Casein, Peptides, Phosphopeptides; Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA); Plant sterols (plant ester esters) are naturally extracted fats from plants that prevent the absorption of cholesterol from the small intestine into the bloodstream, thereby reducing the amount of bad cholesterol in the blood. Milk offers many health benefits; consuming three servings per day helps restore and maintain weight and nutritional status, even after surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or in cases of wasting due to cancer; it also prevents risk factors for several chronic diseases: obesity, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, etc.
Also at the seminar, representatives from Vinamilk's leadership, the beverage industry, and the powdered milk industry introduced to the elderly in Khanh Hoa, Da Nang, and Quang Nam provinces information about the company and its special nutritional products for the elderly, including GoldSoy, a high-protein, non-GMO soy milk product.
Currently, Vinamilk offers many special nutritional products to care for the health of the elderly. After years of investing in research and development to find breakthrough nutritional solutions in the soy milk industry, Vinamilk launched GoldSoy high-protein soy milk in 2012 and GoldSoy CaD soy milk in 2013.
