VinFast stops selling gasoline cars, what will be the future of Lux and Fadil cars?
The last batch of Lux and Fadil cars has been sold out, VinFast officially announced to stop selling gasoline cars and this has caused many customers to ask questions.
VinFast was scheduled to stop selling gasoline cars by the end of this year to switch completely to electric cars. However, in an announcement on July 15, the Vietnamese car company said it had stopped selling gasoline cars, about 5 months earlier than the original schedule.
VinFast Fadil and Lux "sold out"
According to VinFast, the reason for stopping the sale of gasoline cars earlier than planned is due to the sudden increase in the number of customers ordering them recently. As for Fadil, this is continuously the best-selling car in the A-class hatchback segment and is in the top of the best-selling cars in Vietnam.

In June alone, VinFast Fadil sales reached 1,338 units, one and a half times higher than the total sales of Grand i10, Kia Morning, Honda Brio and Toyota Wigo combined. In the first half of 2022, more than 9,500 Fadil units were delivered to customers, nearly double the number of the following model from Hyundai.
With the Lux line, purchasing power is high while VinFast's progress is affected by the global shortage of components, forcing customers to wait 1-2 months to receive their cars. However, Lux A2.0 and Lux SA2.0 are still regularly in the top best-selling cars in their segments. In the first 6 months of the year, sales of these two models were 1,749 and 1,239 units, respectively.
VinFast cars are also "sold out" because the company has many competitive policies. Customers who buy Fadil are supported with loan interest or a discount of 40 million VND deducted from the selling price. Meanwhile, the Lux line is applied with 3 vouchers worth 200 million VND each, helping buyers to own a car at an attractive price.

Announced to stop selling gasoline cars on July 15, but in reality, many VinFast dealers have stopped accepting deposits for Lux and Fadil cars since the beginning of July. The market for buying and reselling VinFast gasoline car deposits has become bustling. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese car company said that from now until the end of August, it will focus on producing and delivering cars to customers who have signed contracts.
What is the future of VinFast "limited" cars?
Although VinFast announced the roadmap at the beginning of the year, the information that the company will stop selling gasoline cars still raises many questions. How will the cars sold be warranted, where will the spare parts be found when the company stops production, and what will the after-sales service be like?
Responding to this issue, Hoang Chi Trung, General Director of VinFast Trading Vietnam, affirmed: "With the cars sold, we are committed to serving until the end of the product life cycle."

To achieve this goal, VinFast has increased the genuine warranty period for all car models to 10 years. The company has also planned the amount of components, spare parts, and equipment to ensure service for all VinFast gasoline-powered cars until the end of their life cycle, even preparing 1.5 times more than market practice.
VinFast representative said that the company will not turn its back on old customers but will strive to add more added value. Showroom systems, service workshops, customer care and after-sales activities have been, are and will continue to be expanded, and mobile repair services (Mobile Service) will be deployed.
All-in on electric cars
In VinFast's June business results report, VF e34 was the only model to record sales growth with 782 cars sold, compared to 448 cars in May. Thanks to that, for the first time, this product appeared in the list of 10 best-selling car models in Vietnam in June.
It can be seen that in the context of the global automobile market being seriously affected by the supply of components, VinFast is focusing on electric vehicles. In fact, compared to the number of 25,000 pre-orders, the Vietnamese car company will need more time to deliver enough VF e34 cars to customers.

With the closure of the gasoline car production line to completely switch to electric car assembly at the end of August, the number of electric cars that VinFast will sell in the future will likely increase sharply. In addition, the end of the year is also the time when the company plans to deliver the VF 8 and VF 9 models to customers in Vietnam.
Regarding infrastructure, VinFast said it is accelerating the construction of a system of 150,000 charging ports for electric cars and motorbikes nationwide in 2022, thereby completing the green mobility ecosystem in Vietnam. VinFast will soon become the first and only pure electric car manufacturer in the Vietnamese market.
In its goal of going global, VinFast simultaneously opened its first six sales centers (VinFast Stores) in California (USA) on July 15. The company said it will continue to open more than 30 stores in California this year, while also researching expanding its network to other states in the US.
