Honoring the legacy of 'Artist' Ninh Viet Giao
(Baonghean.vn) - That is the affirmation of the attending delegates.A meeting to congratulate the late Associate Professor Ninh Viet Giao on his Ho Chi Minh Award-winning work, organized by the Department of Culture and Sports on the afternoon of December 8.
Attending the ceremony were comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Education and Training and many relatives, friends and colleagues of the late Associate Professor Ninh Viet Giao.

Although born in Thanh Hoa province, the late Associate Professor Ninh Viet Giao was deeply attached to Nghe An. In addition to teaching at Huynh Thuc Khang High School, since 1953, he also participated in collecting and researching Nghe An folk culture.
His self-study and passion for research and study have made him a researcher and localist. With 50 works, books and thousands of pages of writings, he has become an “Artist” and has been recognized by the Vietnam Book of Records Center as “the person with the most research works on Nghe An folk culture”.

In recognition of his contributions and scientific value, since 1984, teacher Ninh Viet Giao was the only high school teacher in the locality to be awarded the title of Professor Level 1 (now called Associate Professor), and was awarded the State Prize for Literature and Arts, Phase 1, 2000.
In particular, in May 2017, President Tran Dai Quang awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize - State Prize for Literature and Arts to the late Associate Professor Ninh Viet Giao, for the work "Nghe An Verse Treasure" in 9 volumes.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Minh Thong reviewed the outstanding research works of the late Associate Professor Ninh Viet Giao; at the same time, he emphasized that the treasure of heritage that the late Associate Professor left behind made an important contribution to the cause of building the culture of Nghe An homeland.
