Elderly couple travel everywhere in 100 year old car

After retiring, couple Dirk and Trudy Regter bought a 100-year-old car to travel around the world.

Dutch couple Dirk and Trudy Regte traveled around the world in a vintage Ford Model T for three years and raised $43,000 for charity.

Although it has been in operation for more than 100 years, the Ford Model T still accompanies the Dutch couple across rivers and deserts on their journey through Asia, Europe, Africa, America and Australia.

Retired architect Dirk Regter bought a Ford Model T in 1997 and used it to travel around the world.

In 2012, they traveled across Africa, covering more than 24,000 km in 6 months.

In 2014, the Dutch couple drove their vintage car 26,000 km through Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Brazil in South America.

The retired couple also crossed the desert to visit Las Vegas in Nevada, USA.

To date, Trudy Regter and her husband have driven 80,000 km around the world in vintage cars.

The Ford Model T was mass produced with 15 million units between 1908 and 1927.
