“Born and raised in Cam Lam, I understand that people here do not usually have the habit of storing food, and now that the epidemic is raging, they will certainly face shortages and difficulties. As members of the Youth Union, my wife and I want to use our youth to support the locality in fighting the epidemic, sharing with the villagers and our hometown.”

Joining the Youth Volunteer Team, Mr. An and Ms. Thuy often take on the task of transporting necessities by motorbike to people in remote villages. The farthest of them is Cam village, about 10 km from the commune center. There is no concrete road so it is bumpy, slippery and most of the journey involves climbing mountains and wading through streams.

As a local, Ms. Thuy has worked for many years in the border commune of Mai Son, so she is familiar with the difficulties and hardships of traveling on this route. "I feel sorry for the villagers, including my relatives, who are already facing difficulties in normal days, but nowpandemicThe more deprived we are. With nothing to help people, my husband and I agreed to join in supporting the fight against the epidemic, hoping to contribute to repelling the epidemic and helping our homeland return to peace soon" - Ms. Thuy confided.

The sudden developments made it difficult for people to prepare and store food.

To help people in need, the Commune Youth Union Standing Committee decided to establish a 12-member Youth Volunteer Team to support them. Accordingly, if there is a shortage of necessities, families can contact by phone, and members of the Team will go to Chau Khe commune to buy the goods, then deliver and pay at the quarantine checkpoints in the villages.
