Every day, the brothers and sisters and the team members cross the small suspension bridge over the Lam River to Khe Choang Market in Chau Khe Commune to buy food, groceries and other necessities for the people. The carts are always full of goods and brought to the commune center, then transported to households according to orders.

It is worth mentioning that Mr. Quang Van An and his wife had previously been ready to close their house, leave their 5-year-old son with his grandparents to take care of, and together write a volunteer application to participate in the support.anti-epidemic.

“Born and raised in Cam Lam, I understand that people here do not usually have the habit of storing food, and now that the epidemic is raging, they will certainly face shortages and difficulties. As members of the Youth Union, my wife and I want to use our youth to support the locality in fighting the epidemic, sharing with the villagers and our hometown.”

Normally, Mr. Quang Van An is a farmer whose main source of income is agricultural production and partly from grocery business. Meanwhile, Ms. Loc Thi Thuy is a kindergarten teacher working in the border commune of Mai Son (Tuong Duong). Due to the complicated developments of the epidemic, she has not been able to return to work after the summer vacation.

Joining the Youth Volunteer Team, Mr. An and Ms. Thuy often take on the task of transporting necessities by motorbike to people in remote villages. The furthest of these is Cam village, about 10 km from the commune center. There is no concrete road, so it is bumpy, slippery and mostly involves climbing mountains and wading through streams.

As a local, Ms. Thuy has worked for many years in the border commune of Mai Son, so she is familiar with the hardships and difficulties of traveling on this route. "I feel sorry for the villagers, including my relatives, who are already facing difficulties in normal times, but nowpandemicmore and more deprived. With nothing to help people, my husband and I agreed to join in supporting the fight against the epidemic, hoping to contribute to repelling the epidemic, and for our homeland to soon return to peace" - Ms. Thuy confided.

According to Mr. Vi Van Quy - Secretary of Cam Lam Commune Youth Union, on August 21, after a positive case of COVID-19 appeared in the commune,Covid-19, Con Cuong District People's Committee decided to implement social isolation according to Directive 16 for the entire commune (5 villages). The sudden developments made it difficult for people to prepare and store food.

To help people in need, the Standing Committee of the Commune Youth Union decided to establish a 12-member Youth Volunteer Team to support them. Accordingly, if there is a shortage of necessities, families can contact by phone, and members of the Team will go to Chau Khe commune to buy goods, then deliver and pay at the quarantine checkpoints in the villages.
