Hydroelectric dam collapses in Laos, hundreds missing
Hundreds of people are missing and dead after a hydroelectric dam in Attapeu province, southeastern Laos collapsed on the night of July 23.

The dam failure occurred at a hydroelectric project being built by Xe Pien-Xe Namnoy Power Company (PNPC), causing more than 5 billion cubic meters of water to flow downstream. Hundreds of people are missing and many are believed to have died, according to the Lao News Agency.LNA.

More than 6,600 people in San Sai district, Attapeu province, southeastern Laos,lost their homes due to flood waters.
