Wife asked for divorce, young father cruelly took the lives of 2 young children
After writing a suicide note - Nguyen Van Duy, in Hanoi, killed his two children with pesticide and then committed suicide.
The Hanoi People's Procuracy has just completed the indictment to prosecute Nguyen Van Duy (born 1985, in Thanh Oai) for murder.
Previously, in 2008, Duy married Nguyen Thi Hien (born in 1989). Duy and his wife had to spend a lot of time, effort, and money to treat infertility at medical facilities but still had no results.
In 2013 and 2015, Ms. Hien gave birth to two children, a boy and a girl.

In April 2018, Duy began to suspect that his wife was having an affair with another man. He also suspected that the two children his wife gave birth to were not his.
Duy repeatedly confronted his wife about this, but Ms. Hien did not admit it, leading to frequent arguments and fights between the couple.
Because of the anger about being beaten, Ms. Hien returned to her mother's house. During this time, she contacted her husband many times by text message and phone call to inform him that she was going to divorce.
After his wife sent him a prepared divorce petition via Zalo, Duy was angry and had the idea of killing his two children to make his wife regret it.
The time his wife took the child back to her mother's house was also a painful time for Duy. Around 12:30 on May 18, 2018, on his way home from work, Duy went to a nursery store to buy pesticide, which he brought home and stored in the kitchen.
Early the next morning, he wrote a suicide note with the following content: "I am unfilial, I apologize to my parents, after you found out I went too far.
I have my reasons. After I die, I ask my parents to let the three of us be cremated and our ashes put in a jar..."
Duy folded the suicide note and placed it under the bed near the dresser. At 8:30 a.m. that same day, Duy went to the nursery to pick up his two children and take them home.
He mixed pesticide into soft drinks, gave them to his children and said: "Dad will give you medicine to help you get better and then go play with Dad"...
When the two children were unconscious, the defendant mixed pesticide into water and drank it, then went to bed next to the children.
At around 11am that same day, Duy felt uncomfortable and vomited. He thought that vomiting would not kill him, so he went up to the third floor and threw himself on the ground.
Duy fell on an electric wire and fell to the ground. He was taken to the emergency room in time and did not die.
The two children were discovered and taken to the emergency room later but died outside the hospital due to pesticide poisoning.
Regarding civil matters, Ms. Hien did not request compensation from the defendant. She requested that the sentence for her husband be reduced.
The trial of a father who murdered his two children and then committed suicide will take place in early November.
