Trump assassination play sparks outrage in US
A play depicting the assassination of President-elect Donald Trump by two male students has caused a strong reaction from the American public, especially parents.
Two students and a teacher at a high school in Texas, USA have just been reprimanded after performing a short play called "The Assassination of President Donald Trump".
In the skit, one student used a phone-based gunshot effect to pretend to fire a shot while the other student played Mr. Trump, falling to the floor and pretending to be dead, the San Antonio ExKipress-News reported. The skit took place during an English class at John Marshall High School in San Antonio.
Teachers instructed students to create and perform the play after a Shakespeare lesson and reviewed the script beforehand, said Brian Woods, superintendent of the Northside Independent School District.
However, two students later changed the original script. The teacher was unaware of the assassination attempt on the president-elect and immediately stopped the play in class, Mr. Woods said. The identities of the two students and the teacher were not released.

Barry Perez, a spokesman for the local school district, said authorities had taken "appropriate action" against the three and the teacher had apologized.
However, many believe the school should have taken a more severe form of discipline, at least suspension. Harold Bean, a parent of a child at John Marshall, told the press that an apology was not enough.
"Honestly, I have no words to describe my shock and anger that these students are still allowed to go to school," Harold's wife, Melinda Bean, expressed her indignation.
After billionaire Trump was elected president, many people were concerned about the possibility that he could be assassinated before his inauguration in January 2017. This concern was well-founded because as soon as the election ended, some supporters of Mrs. Hillary Clinton expressed extreme indignation and openly called for the "assassination" of Donald Trump.
According to the New York Daily News, calls to assassinate Mr. Trump have also flooded Twitter since the billionaire was elected president.
Last week, the CEO of a newly formed cybersecurity agency in San Diego resigned after threatening Trump’s life on election night. He later apologized and said the threats were meant to be a joke.
In Ohio, a 24-year-old man was arrested after posting violent messages against Mr. Trump on Twitter on November 9. He appeared in court on November 17.
