"Ms. Chon will probably accept a job at Bat Mot kindergarten in her hometown to take care of her children and family," Mr. Dung said, adding that Ms. Chon has a junior college degree in preschool education, so she meets the recruitment requirements.
Ms. Chon is the wife of Major Vi Van Nhat, a special officer of the Drug and Crime Prevention Task Force (under the Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard Command). Previously, at around 2:30 p.m. on June 3, Major Nhat and 7 other officers and soldiers of Bat Mot Border Guard Station were conducting an administrative check on a man suspected of transporting drugs at landmark 358, in Duc village, Bat Mot commune, when suddenly, another man hiding about 30 meters away from the task force opened fire, killing him.
Major Vi Van Nhat got married in 2015 and has two young daughters, Vi Trang Nhi (4 years old) and Na (over one year old). For many years, Ms. Chon has stayed home to take care of the children and has no stable job.
