Carelessly turning sidewalks into slaughterhouses
(Baonghean.vn) - Pigs and cows are transported by truck from Thanh Chuong and slaughtered, sold right on the sidewalk. Wastewater flows onto the street, posing a potential risk to food hygiene and safety.
Recently, Nghe An newspaper received information that at the intersection of Thanh Thai Street and Hecrman Street (Hung Phuc Ward, Vinh City), there was a situation of slaughtering cows and pigs right on the sidewalk and then selling them to people.
On the morning of March 2, after receiving the report, Nghe An Newspaper reporters went to the above location to verify the incident. At the intersection corner next to the house number 69, Hecrman Street, the meat of a calf was displayed haphazardly on a tarp. Many people living nearby and passersby gathered to watch and buy the meat, causing a chaotic scene.

Many customers, including government employees, came to buy meat. |
It was learned that these people often brought calves to the boarding school in Thanh Thuy commune (Thanh Chuong). After selling most of the calf's meat, these people continued to drag a live pig from the truck and proceeded to slit its throat and shave its hair right on the sidewalk. Blood, feces, and pig hair spilled all over the sidewalk. Only about 1 hour later (11 am), this amount of pork was also bought by the people.

Realizing that the slaughter and trading activities had signs of violating regulations, the reporter immediately called the environmental police force. Just a few minutes later, Team 4, Environmental Police Department (PC49) came down to inspect and make a record of the incident.
Major Phan Hong Son, Deputy Team 4 (PC49) said that through inspection, it was determined that these subjects organized livestock slaughtering activities that did not ensure environmental hygiene, meat of unknown origin, slaughter location and slaughter control were not implemented in accordance with regulations. However, because the subjects declared that the pigs were family pigs, the inspection team only reminded and asked them to immediately stop the activity, and at the same time pledged not to repeat the offense.
It is worth mentioning that although this activity has taken place many times, at a fixed location, the authorities of Vinh city and Hung Phuc ward still do not know?!
