Premier League Matchday 7: A stormy journey!
(Baonghean) - Tonight at 8:05 PM, the highlight match of Round 7 of the English Premier League will take place between the two most elite representatives of London. Both teams arrive at Stamford Bridge with only the confidence gained from their convincing 4-1 victory against Garataray midweek; otherwise, their statistics and form are no match for The Blues. This season, Chelsea, under manager Mourinho, has shown incredibly strong form after adding quality players. In the six rounds played so far, The Blues have won five and drawn only one match, currently sitting comfortably at the top of the league table. Chelsea is highly rated in this Premier League season, possessing a deep and well-balanced squad across all three lines. The integration of new players has earned the admiration of "the Special One," including names like Cesc Fabregas – who has been playing exceptionally well and is currently the heart of the midfield – and Diego Costa, who has maintained his goal-scoring instinct as he did for Atletico Madrid last season. His goal-scoring performance for Chelsea is even more impressive; in just the first six rounds, the Brazilian-born player has already scored eight goals, a nightmare for any defense. Furthermore, the fact that other players are all in their best form is the basis for fans of the blue half of London to believe in a victory for their team.
On the other side of the pitch, Arsenal, despite spending £77 million to strengthen their squad at the start of the season, have shown inconsistency in their playing style and performance. Adding to this is the recurring injury problem – something the Gunners can't avoid every season. Currently, the "Eemirates Hospital" is overloaded with returning "patients" like Debuchy, Monreal, Ramsey, Arteta, Walcott, Gnabry, Sanogo, and Giroud. Another weakness of Arsenal is their reluctance to play against teams that favor a physical and fast-paced style, such as Borussia Dortmund, Man City, and Chelsea. Against these teams, partly due to injury concerns and partly due to physical inferiority, Arsene Wenger's players often fail to implement their flamboyant style of play and impose their game on their opponents.
In March of the 2013-2014 season, when Arsenal traveled to Stamford Bridge, they were eager to celebrate the 1,000th match under manager Arsene Wenger. However, after 90 minutes, they failed to score a single goal and conceded a barrage of goals (6-0) to Chelsea. Furthermore, in their last five encounters, Arsenal only managed to secure a single point against the Blues. Of course, in football, one cannot simply rely on past statistics. But the reality is that this trip to Stamford Bridge is fraught with difficulties for Arsene Wenger's team. With a high-quality squad in peak form and a seasoned and cunning manager like Jose Mourinho, even a single point would be considered a success for the visitors.
