V.NB started the season with a 3-1 victory in Hong Kong.

In Kavin's goal in the 10th minute, newcomer Voinea played a major role with a perfect pass that allowed Kavin to easily shoot the ball into the home team's net. In the 26th minute, Dinh Van Ta doubled V. Ninh Binh's lead after a solo run and a beautiful shot into the net.

At the start of the second half, V. Ninh Binh further extended their lead with a third goal against the Hong Kong football representative. Quang Hung made a determined run down the left wing before crossing the ball for Patiyo to tap it in from close range, adding another goal for Coach Nguyen Van Sy's team.

In an attempt to score a consolation goal, South China mounted a strong comeback in the following minutes. Their efforts paid off when, in the 58th minute, Ki Siu headed the ball into the net from close range, reducing the deficit to 1-3.

The equalizer seemed to boost South China's morale. In the remaining 30 minutes, the home team put strong pressure on Manh Dung's goal. However, a subsequent substitution by coach Nguyen Van Sy, bringing in center-back Hoang Vissai to replace Kavin to reinforce the defense, helped V.NB hold firm.

It must also be said that this was an extremely outstanding performance by goalkeeper Mạnh Dũng. The Vietnamese national team's goalkeeper made many spectacular saves, preventing certain goals for V. Ninh Bình.

In the other match of Group G, Yangon defeated Kelantan 5-3.
