The echoes of Truong Bon will last forever.
In 2008, the Party Committee and people of the province struggled to overcome all difficulties caused by natural disasters and epidemics to focus on socio-economic development. It was a year filled with worries and anxieties, but we did not forget our duty. The 40th anniversary of the Truong Bon victory and the awarding of the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the 14 Truong Bon Youth Volunteers is a significant event, leaving a deep impression on every citizen of Nghe An province.

Beyond the provincial boundaries, the 40th anniversary celebration of the Truông Bồn victory and the awarding of the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the collective of 14 Youth Volunteer soldiers, broadcast live on VTV1, had a powerful impact on compatriots and comrades nationwide.
Joy spread, and emotion surged within us as tens of thousands witnessed the solemn and respectful ceremony taking place at the foot of the Truong Bon Victory Monument – the place where, 40 years ago, our heroes fought bravely and tenaciously and heroically sacrificed their lives – with the presence of Party and State leaders.
To ensure the commemoration ceremony was solemn and respectful, it required countless days and nights of deliberation from the provincial leaders, meticulous preparation by various departments and levels within the province, and the involvement of numerous branches of the armed forces, from information and propaganda work, cultural and artistic activities, to the implementation of policies and regulations, and the support and assistance provided by those involved in organizing the ceremony.
To ensure the Truong Bon event had a strong and profound impact, provincial leaders organized exchanges in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, thereby helping people nationwide to better understand the tenacious fighting spirit of Nghe An's Youth Volunteers in the fight against the US to save the country and to share and join hands in helping Truong Bon.
In addition, many art exchange programs have been organized in the province, with the active participation of journalists, television and radio broadcasters, students from universities and colleges, and youth union members in the province.
The most significant contribution to Truong Bon must be attributed to the dedicated team of entrepreneurs from within and outside the province, who have acted not only out of social responsibility but also out of gratitude for the noble sacrifices made by the women and men.
To date, the amount of money donated to the construction of the Truông Bồn historical site has reached over 15 billion VND. Many individuals and businesses have made large donations, including Bac A Bank (3 billion VND), Muong Thanh Hotel Group (2 billion VND), Ho Chi Minh City (1.2 billion VND), Saigon Beer and Wine Corporation (1 billion VND), Saigon Investment Joint Stock Company (1 billion VND), Euro Window Plastic Joint Stock Company (1 billion VND), etc.
The momentous event "40th Anniversary of the Truông Bồn Victory" was celebrated fully and meaningfully. What remains is for us to continue showing our concern for Truông Bồn through concrete and practical actions. Regarding policies and regulations, we have basically taken quite good care of the families of the martyrs and the surviving witnesses.
What is crucial for Truong Bon is the planning, preservation, and development of Truong Bon into a national-level historical site, befitting the significance of this historical event. The 800 hectares of land that the Provincial People's Committee has directed to be planned for the construction of the Truong Bon historical site complex will be subject to extensive public consultation before being submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for approval, all with this objective in mind.
The activities and celebrations commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Truông Bồn victory and the awarding of the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the 14 Truông Bồn Youth Volunteers have concluded, but the echoes and resounding legacy of Truông Bồn will resonate for generations to come.
During the war, the young men and women created the legendary Truong Bon. Today and in the future, in the cause of renewal and construction, we have a responsibility to build Truong Bon into a shining example of socio-economic development and the preservation of revolutionary traditions. Truong Bon must be a reality, not a fairy tale. The monument to those young men and women, forever twenty years old, still stands tall here.
The immortal epic of the battle song still resonates on the legendary Highway 15A. The glorious past will serve as a guiding light for present and future generations to write new chapters in the development and renewal of the revolutionary homeland of My Son - Do Luong and surrounding areas. We believe that, in the not too distant future, the Truong Bon historical site complex will be built in a dignified and beautiful manner, based on the moral principles of gratitude and reciprocity, and the people's appreciation for the martyrs, so that Truong Bon will be a place to preserve and educate future generations about our traditions.
