Recently, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) sent document No. 190/VPF to SLNA Club and related parties, including a proposal to suspend referee Ha Anh Chien until the end of the season.
In the 88th minute of the match between FLC Thanh Hoa and SLNA in round 9 of V.League, during an attack by the home team, SLNA defender Dinh Hoang fouled Omar outside the penalty area. However, referee Ha Anh Chien quickly pointed to the penalty spot.
This move led to FLC Thanh Hoa's equalizer, helping the team keep 1 point at home after being led 2-0 by the away team after only nearly 50 minutes of play. The above situation made the coaching staff, players and many SLNA fans indignant.
SLNA Board of Directors directly sent document No. 68/2016/SLNA to the Standing Committee of Vietnam Football Federation, VFF Disciplinary Board, VPF Company and the tournament organizer to propose handling referee Ha Anh Chien. After a period of meetings and working, this referee received a disciplinary suspension until the end of the first leg.
The entire document No. 190/VPF was sent by VPF to SLNA Club and related parties regarding the incident.
In addition, to show goodwill in resolving the matter, VPF also sent a response document to Official Dispatch No. 68/2016/SLNA personally signed and stamped by General Director Cao Van Chong.
In document No. 190/VPF, VPF said that "it is very regrettable that the referee in charge of the match made mistakes that seriously affected the match result", and "hopes to continue to receive constructive comments in the spirit of cooperation and joint efforts for the success of Vietnamese football".
Also according to this document, VPF has proposed to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Referee Board not to use referee Ha Anh Chien to officiate matches from now until the end of the season.
VPF hopes to ensure fairness, transparency and overall success of the 2016 season by strictly handling shortcomings in refereeing in particular and in the participation and organization of tournament participants in general.
