VTV won First Prize in Educational Journalism 2025 with the work 'Opening the Way'
VTV was honored with 1 First Prize and 1 Encouragement Prize at the National Press Award 'For the Cause of Vietnam Education' 2025, making its mark with humanistic and in-depth investigative works.
On the evening of November 14 in Hanoi, Vietnam Television (VTV) was honored at the National Press Awards Ceremony "For the Cause of Vietnam Education" in 2025 with two awards: 1 First Prize and 1 Encouragement Prize. The event was broadcast live on VTV2 channel.
The work 'Opening the Way' and the touching story of sowing words
The work "Opening the Way" by the group of authors Dang Tran My Hanh, Duong Van Thuan, and Cao Dang Giang of the Special Topics - Science and Education Department won the first prize. The reportage recorded the determined journey of Mr. Tho, a young teacher who travels nearly 70 km every day to teach at the main school and open literacy classes for ethnic minorities in the evening.

The work depicts realistic and touching images, such as the moment when Mong and Dao women carefully write each letter for the first time, or the image of a mother hugging her sleeping child while diligently studying. Journalist Dang Tran My Hanh shared that these moments show that education not only brings knowledge but also faith and hope, helping people overcome barriers of inferiority.

An investigative perspective on risks in study abroad consulting
In addition to the First Prize, VTV also received an Encouragement Prize for the work "Risks in choosing a study abroad consulting contract" by Phan Thi Hoai Thuong and Nguyen Bang Viet from VTVDigital Center for Digital Content Production and Development. This is the only work in the investigative genre among the 60 works that won this year, showing a thorny and highly warning journalistic perspective.
