Three infant deaths: Vaccine supplied by Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang.
The vaccines administered to the children were from two production batches manufactured in September 2012, with an expiration date of July 2015.
Regarding the case of three newborns who died immediately after receiving the Hepatitis B vaccine at Huong Hoa District General Hospital, Quang Tri Province, on the morning of July 21st, representatives from the Quang Tri Provincial Department of Health and the Huong Hoa District People's Committee visited the families of the victims to offer condolences and share their grief.
The Quang Tri provincial health department is also reviewing all batches of hepatitis B vaccine throughout the province to report to the Ministry of Health.

This morning, the families of the three infants who died after receiving the Hepatitis B vaccine held funerals for their children. The People's Committee of Huong Hoa district provided each victim's family with 2 million VND in support.
Leaders of the District People's Committee, along with specialized departments, visited and offered condolences to the victim's family. The Huong Hoa District Health Center continued to count the remaining vaccines in the district, which were sealed pending inspection.
Mr. Lam Chi Duc, Director of the Huong Hoa District Health Center, said: “We followed the correct procedures because it is the unit's job and must comply with Regulation 23 of the Ministry of Health. Currently, we have to be vigilant in case of such incidents, but the vaccine storage procedure is carried out correctly. At the commune level, they also have similar vaccine storage systems.”
As of this morning, the cause of death has not yet been determined. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tuong, Director of the Quang Tri Provincial Center for Preventive Medicine, stated that the vaccine batch belonged to the National Expanded Immunization Program, supplied by the Pasteur Institute of Nha Trang - Ministry of Health.
