“The 11 suspects hired were the same ones who participated in the riots in 2014 and 2017,” Telesur reported. According to the payment contract, after completing the mission, these guys would be paid $ 50 million and provided with accommodation in the US.

According to evidence collected, the perpetrators had previously received training in flying aircraft and using explosives at a farm in Colombia's Chinacota region from April to June.

In addition, Venezuelan authorities are planning to request the extradition of the masterminds of the assassination of President Maduro from the United States and Colombia.

“With the extradition agreement, we will request all the masterminds, those who supported the attack and those who directly participated in the terrorist act living in the state of Florida (USA) and in Colombia to serve the investigation,” President Maduro declared.

The Venezuelan leader expressed confidence that the US would not allow mass murderers to seek refuge in the US and awaited “quick diplomatic responses” from Washington.

The Venezuelan government also presented evidence that the plotters wanted to carry out the assassination a month and a half earlier.

“Photos and videos found on phones and computers show that the terrorists were asked to watch a rehearsal of the military parade on June 24. However, they abandoned the idea of carrying out a terrorist attack in Carabobo state because they were not really ready,” President Maduro said.

According to him, these people considered the possibility of carrying out terrorism on Venezuela's Independence Day (July 5), but once again canceled it.

The attempted assassination of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro took place on August 4, while he was speaking at the 81st Anniversary of the National Guard. Thanks to the quick action of security forces, the President escaped unharmed, and three drones equipped with explosives were shot down.

Shortly after, the Venezuelan government accused Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos of being behind the attack and identified several suspects in the United States. The Colombian Foreign Ministry denied the accusations of the Venezuelan leader. To date, six suspects have been arrested.
