Caught drinking coffee: Ward chairman's emulation cut
Regarding the case of two girls who went to a coffee shop and were taken to a social protection center, the People's Committee of Thu Duc District has just issued a notice of action against the Chairman of the Ward People's Committee and related officials and civil servants.
On November 12, the People's Committee of Thu Duc District issued a notice to handle the officials and civil servants involved in the incident of taking two girls to a social welfare center for coffee without showing identification.
Specifically, the individuals involved include leaders, civil servants and employees of Tam Binh Ward People's Committee. Including Mr. Le Nguyen Trong Quoc - Chairman of Tam Binh Ward People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Tang Cuong - Secretary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Tam Binh Ward (full-time officer of the ward); Mr. Luu Kim Dau - Officer in charge of Social Evils Prevention and Control of Tam Binh Ward (part-time officer of the ward).

Accordingly, the Disciplinary Council of Tam Binh Ward People's Committee has decided to discipline Mr. Luu Kim Dau - Officer in charge of social evils prevention and control of the Ward with a reprimand.
Regarding Mr. Nguyen Tang Cuong - Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the ward, the representative of the organization signed the minutes confirming that the homeless social subject needed help, the Ward Disciplinary Council analyzed, considered not to discipline him and required him to seriously learn from his experience in the process of implementing coordination work at the unit.
Also according to the People's Committee of Thu Duc District, a self-criticism report of Le Nguyen Trong Quoc - Chairman of the People's Committee of Tam Binh Ward was also sent to the District People's Committee.
On October 18, the District Disciplinary Council held a meeting to consider the responsibilities of Mr. Le Nguyen Trong Quoc - Chairman of the People's Committee of Tam Binh Ward. Accordingly, Mr. Quoc, as the head of the agency, made mistakes in directing the settlement of the case that did not comply with regulations. However, Mr. Quoc was only severely criticized and had his emulation in 2017 revoked.

Previously, as reported by Ho Chi Minh City Law, on the afternoon of September 18, the interdisciplinary delegation of the People's Committee of Tam Binh Ward administratively inspected the MU coffee shop (Tam Binh Ward, Thu Duc District). When checking the documents of two girls Nguyen Thi Tuyet Nhung (21 years old, from Tien Giang) and Le Thi Kieu (16 years old, from Dong Nai), these two people could not present them so they were taken to the headquarters for clarification.
About an hour later, the two girls were taken to a social welfare center in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, for not being able to present documents or information about their temporary or permanent residence. Nine days later, after the press reported the incident, both were released.
