House demolition incident: Wall collapses, kills 2 people: Painful small neighborhood

When the wall of the old house's protruding room had been demolished but had not yet collapsed due to the steel core connecting it to the beam of the middle room, Mr. Binh used steel cutters to stand on the bamboo ladder to cut it. At this time, to create a position for the ladder to not slip, Mr. Dat - the younger brother of the homeowner Mr. Do - stood holding the ladder.

Everyone had just stepped outside, only Mr. Hien took another bamboo stick to prop up the wall so that Mr. Binh could cut the steel core. Seeing the wall shaking and showing signs of collapse, Mr. Nguyen Nhu My ran in screaming, but before he could finish, Mr. Binh's pliers had cut the steel core above. In a flash, the entire wall collapsed, causing Mr. Binh and Mr. Dat to die on the spot. Mr. Hien didn't have time to run out and was also hit by the collapsing wall, falling and hitting his head on a concrete beam.

The accident happened so quickly, everyone could not believe their eyes. Dat's mother, who is 88 years old this year, cried out in grief for her son as she recounted: There are 5 siblings in the family, Dat is the youngest. In the past 6 years, 2 of Dat's brothers also passed away due to illness, the family now only has 1 brother and 1 sister left.

Grief filled the small neighborhood. Mr. Binh - the deceased victim was the youngest of two children. Mr. Hien's family was seriously injured and is currently being treated at the provincial hospital. Their two children are still very young, the older one is 5 years old and the younger one is 2 years old.

Since the accident, the whole village has not slept, relatives, friends, and neighbors have cried their eyes out in grief for the two unfortunate people. On the morning of July 10, two funerals took place only a few dozen minutes apart, despite the pouring rain, the whole village and commune sadly bid farewell to the deceased who had passed away at such a young age.

It is known that immediately after the accident, the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front, departments, branches and organizations from the district to the grassroots level promptly visited and encouraged the families of the deceased with over 7 million VND each, and the injured with over 3 million VND./.
