Bank robbery with gun: Suspect left a suicide note
Information said that the masked suspect who robbed a bank in Vinh Long with a gun before committing suicide left a suicide note.
Regarding the masked, gun-wielding bank robbery at Hoa Phu Industrial Park (Long Ho District, Vinh Long), the source said that the suspect used the same gun to commit the bank robbery and committed suicide at his workplace.
The source confirmed that the suspect, named K. (about 42 years old), is a soldier. Authorities found a suicide note suspected to have been left by the man.
According to the letter, the suspect committed the robbery because he owed a large sum of money.
Speaking to reporters, Colonel Pham Van Ngan - Deputy Director of Vinh Long Police said: "Up to this point, the police investigation agency has clarified the perpetrator of the bank robbery. Because the case is related to military personnel, the provincial police are completing procedures to transfer the case to the investigation agency of Region 3 (Military Region 9) for further investigation and clarification.

Previously, during the investigation, the police determined that after robbing the money, the suspect went to Phuoc Yen market, then went around Phu Quoi commune to get on National Highway 1 and ran towards Can Tho. On the way to escape, the suspect left behind the following items:
At Karaoke 68 (Phu Hung Hamlet, Hoa Phu Commune, Long Ho District) 1 pair of shoes and 1 pair of gloves.

At Hamlet 2, Tan Loc Commune, Tam Binh District, a black handbag with the word Voyager in red and a red helmet with black stripes were left behind. Through checking the security cameras of the people, the police discovered the robber riding on the Hoa Phu - Tan Loc inter-commune road at 3:44 p.m., more than 20 minutes after committing the crime. At this time, the robber had attached a license plate, was wearing a white helmet, and was wearing a short-sleeved white shirt.

Previously, as VietNamNet reported, at around 3:15 p.m. on September 27, a man with a southern accent, wearing a red helmet with black stripes, a full-face mask, a white T-shirt with black stripes, light brown pants, and sneakers entered the transaction room and pulled out a gun, loaded it, and controlled the bank employees and customers who were transacting.
At that time, there were 9 people in the transaction room, including 6 employees and 3 customers. The robber pointed a gun threateningly and threw a black bag into the counter, demanding that the employees put all their money in the bag.

Fearing that the robber had a weapon, the two female tellers followed suit, opening drawers and safes to take money. Notably, one female bank employee was quick-witted and did not take money from the drawer under the table, which contained over 1 billion VND.
After taking the bag of money, the robber got on a gray-white AirBlade motorbike without a license plate and escaped. The entire robbery was recorded by the bank's security camera in nearly 3 minutes.
According to bank statistics, the amount of money stolen was more than 207 million VND.
