Child hit swing and bruised leg
Ms. Nga said: “After the incident happened, the teachers and I asked TPĐ.K (5-year-old class E) very carefully about the bruise on his left leg. This bruise was very small, only the size of a coin. Ms. Nga stated that while playing, K. may have suffered a bruise on her left leg, but the homeroom teacher and other student teachers did not notice it. On the morning of March 22, Ms. Phan Thi Nghia - K.'s parent - came to the classroom to ask about the bruise on her left leg, when the assault on student teacher H. occurred.
“The incident was completely unexpected because it was also the time when parents were taking their children to school. After Ms. H. was beaten, the school promptly took her to a medical facility for a health check because Ms. H. was pregnant at the time,” Ms. Nga said.
Ms. Nguyen Mai Anh - homeroom teacher of class 5-year-old E said that student teacher H. had just started her internship on January 21, 2018 with 17 other students from Nghe An Pedagogical College.
“During her internship, student teacher H. was an outstanding person, very agile, active, talented in teaching and especially loved children. I believe that Ms. H. did not hit children. K. was very intelligent and obedient, a bit hyperactive, but the teachers certainly never hit her,” said Ms. Mai Anh.

Clarifying for teachers' peace of mind
Ms. Mai Anh said the incident happened very quickly and unexpectedly. “While I and two student teachers were feeding the children milk in the classroom, K.’s parent brought her child to the classroom and asked her, “Who hit you?”. As soon as K. pointed at Ms. H., the parent immediately rushed over and grabbed her hair and beat her. Seeing this, I and two other parents rushed over to stop her, but because the parent grabbed her hair so tightly, the teachers couldn’t get it out,” Ms. Mai Anh said.
Ms. Mai Anh said that since March 24 (Friday) until now, K. has not been to school. The school board is also trying to contact the family to encourage the family to let the child return to school soon.
