Russian weapons are ordered by many countries after their performance in Syria

"There is a growing demand for Russian-made equipment, as it has proven its worth in harsh weather and combat conditions,"TASSquoted CEO of Russian arms export corporation (Rosoboronexport) Alexander Mikheyev said yesterday.

According to Mikheyev, after the impressive performance of Russian weapons and equipment on the Syrian battlefield, Rosoboronexport has received orders worth more than 50 billion USD, a significant portion of which comes from Arab countries. Many such weapons will be brought by this corporation to the upcoming Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS) 2018.

The BIAS exhibition takes place from November 14 to November 16 in Bahrain with the participation of many defense corporations from Russia, the United States and European countries. Rosoboronexport plans to bring about 250 of the most modern weapons such as the S-400 long-range air defense missile, Pantsir-S1 short-range air defense missile-gun system, Su-35S multi-role fighter, Il-76MD-90A transport aircraft, drones and electronic warfare systems.

Rosoboronexport officials revealed that military delegations from Middle Eastern countries are showing interest in Su-35S and MiG-29M2 fighters and Yak-130 training jets. Russian air defense systems are also expected to attract much attention from Arab countries.

Since participating in the military campaign in Syria in 2015, Russia has deployed many modern weapons to this Middle Eastern country to verify their combat capabilities, including Su-35S fighter jets, Pantsir-S1, S-400, S-300 complexes..., contributing to the destruction of 88,000 self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) militants.
