Boiler explosion in Nghe An: 2 workers discharged from hospital
(Baonghean.vn) - The boiler explosion on the morning of April 18 at the Vietnam Wood World Joint Stock Company in the Nam Cam Industrial Park left 11 workers with burns. The lightest person had 8% of their body burned, the most severe was nearly 60%. Currently, 2 people have been discharged from the hospital, 2 people have been transferred to a higher level and the remaining 5 people are receiving intensive treatment.

According to information from the Provincial General Hospital, among the four workers admitted, two are in serious condition, with large burns: Phung Ba Tam with burns covering nearly 60% of his body, and Nguyen Cong Van with over 50%. These two people suffered deep burns of the first, second, third, and fourth degrees all over their face, head, chest, and back.
Master Nguyen Duc Vuong, Head of the Department of Trauma and Orthopedics, said: The progression of the burns in the two patients Tam and Van is very complicated, especially the problem of vasodilation and anuria. The danger is even greater when the third stage of the burn is toxic. Therefore, the hospital had to transfer the two patients to the National Institute of Burns for treatment on the morning of April 18.
The two remaining burned workers, Le Van Minh and Tran Huu Quang, with burns covering 25-30% of their bodies, are being closely monitored and receiving intensive treatment at the Provincial General Hospital.

At General Hospital 115, where 7 workers were hospitalized with burns on the morning of April 18, 2 have been discharged (8% burns), the remaining 5 (nearly 30% burns) are receiving intensive treatment. Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thuy, Head Nurse of the Trauma - Orthopedics Department, said: Currently, the wounds of the 5 patients are being treated with Pentadin (a medicine to cool and soften wounds), painkillers... the patients' spirits have gradually stabilized and they are awake.
