According to VietNamNet, battery-soaked coffee waste from Ms. Loan's facility was used to mix with pepper and authorities seized 9 tons of pepper mixed with this impurity.

This morning, information from Dak Nong Provincial Police said that the Provincial Police Investigation Agency is focusing on investigating and consolidating records and evidence to prosecute related subjects in the case of an agricultural facility in Dak Wer commune (Dak R'lap district) soaking coffee waste with batteries.

"The provincial police will soon hold a press conference to publicize the investigation results on the mass media," the information said.

Coffee waste is mixed with ice, soaked in batteries and mixed with pepper.

Based on the statements of the subjects and the collected documents and evidence, on April 23, the investigation agency issued a decision to initiate criminal proceedings and issue a decision to detain people in an emergency for investigation against 5 subjects: Nguyen Thi Thanh Loan (born in 1975, residing in village 13, Dak Wer commune, Dak R'lap district); Nguyen Xuan Bao (born in 1985, residing in Nghia Thang commune, Dak R'lap district); Phan Thi Dung (born in 1962, residing in Loc Ninh district, Binh Phuoc); Le Thi Hong Tho (born in 1979, residing in Nam N'Jang commune, Dak Song district, Dak Nong) and Tran Van Tuan (born in 1976, residing in Nam N'Jang commune, Dak Song district).

Police are temporarily detaining Ms. Loan and four other suspects for the crime of soaking coffee waste.

Also according to the information, regarding the purpose of making the mixture, Loan and Bao initially confessed to selling it to Le Thi Hong Tho and Tran Van Tuan; Loan and Bao sold 3 tons of the mixture. After that, Tho and Tuan resold the 3 tons of the mixture to Phan Thi Dung (Director of Thao Dung Production and Trade Company Limited, Hung Thuy Hamlet, Loc Thinh Commune, Loc Ninh District, Binh Phuoc).

The investigation agency has seized the above mixture at Phan Thi Dung's agricultural warehouse. The mixture has been seized by the police and has not been sold on the market.

Information from the police said that the entire mixture of impurities had been seized and determined that it had not been sold on the market.

Meanwhile, VietNamNet's private source said that the initial investigation determined that Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Loan's agricultural facility mixed coffee waste with stone powder and Con Ó batteries for the purpose of food processing and mixing them with pepper.

The source said that the information about battery-soaked coffee waste being used to produce coffee is incorrect.

“This facility mixed coffee waste with stone powder and soaked batteries with the intention of mixing it into pepper to make a profit. This facility sold it to a pepper production facility in a district of Binh Phuoc province,” the source said.

Authorities are investigating and clarifying the motive for mixing coffee waste with stone powder and soaking batteries at the agricultural facility owned by Ms. Loan.

According to the source, the authorities seized 9 tons of finished pepper from the facility in Binh Phuoc that was mixed with the battery soaking mixture purchased from Ms. Loan.

Discussing the above information, a leader of Dak Nong Provincial Police said that the case is under investigation, the authorities are still taking samples for testing, and when the results are available, the press will be informed...
