Parents assaulting student teachers: Nghe An Department of Education and Training has official report

(Baonghean.vn) - The 21-year-old female student said that after being beaten up, her parents forced her to kneel down and apologize if she did not want to continue being beaten.
Regarding the case of a parent breaking into the Vietnam - Laos Kindergarten (Vinh City) to assault a trainee teacher, on March 26, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training sent an official report to the Ministry of Education and Training and the People's Committee of Nghe An province.

According to the report, at around 8:00 a.m. on March 22, Ms. Phan Thi Nghia, the parent of TPĐ.K (5-year-old kindergarten class E), brought her child to class and thought that the student teacher PTH (21 years old) had beaten her child in the previous class, leaving a bruise on K's left leg, so she rushed in, pulled her hair, and beat Ms. H.
“Ms. Nghia pulled Ms. H's hair and kicked her back and stomach many times. At that time, the 5E teacher and other parents present promptly intervened, and Ms. Nghia stopped,” the report stated.
Because of the beating, student teacher H. suffered from stomach pain and bleeding. The school took student teacher H. to Nghe An Reproductive Health Care Center for examination and treatment.
At the same time, the school reported the incident to the People's Committee, Trung Do Ward Police and Vinh City Police and took Ms. Nghia to the city police headquarters for investigation and clarification.
At Nghe An Health Care Center, through examination and ultrasound, the doctor concluded that patient H. had mild detachment, a sign of threatened miscarriage. Currently, PTH student is continuing treatment at Nghe An Reproductive Health Care Center, the bleeding has stopped but she still has abdominal pain.

Immediately after the incident, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training requested the Vinh City Department of Education and Training to direct the Vietnam - Laos Kindergarten to quickly stabilize the situation, do a good job of ideological work for staff, teachers, student teachers and parents; visit and encourage student teachers H. At the same time, coordinate with relevant agencies to verify and clarify the incident.
Nghe An Department of Education and Training also requested Vinh City People's Committee to direct competent authorities to verify and clarify the incident and handle violations in accordance with the law.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan - Chief of Office of Nghe An Department of Education and Training said that through the above incident, the Department also directed educational institutions in the whole province to strictly implement the code of conduct for teachers; actively practice pedagogical skills, skills to handle situations, especially educational situations related to parents of students.
On March 23, Vinh City Police summoned Ms. Phan Thi Nghia (35 years old, Trung Do Ward) to take her statement to clarify her act of breaking into the Vietnam - Laos Kindergarten and assaulting a trainee teacher. Working with the police, Ms. Nghia admitted to forcing the female student to kneel and apologize, then assaulting her. She has been banned from leaving her residence to assist in the investigation. Ms. Nghia said she "felt remorseful" after the incident. Vinh City Police said they will ask the female student to have her injuries assessed to strengthen the case against this parent.
