The destruction of nearly 500 heroin cakes: Minister of Public Security sent a letter of commendation

Minister Tran Dai Quang sent a letter of commendation to units under C47 and several other units that destroyed a drug ring hidden in gas cylinders.

On July 26, the General Department of Police, Ministry of Public Security, said that the General Department's leaders are directing the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (C47) to continue to investigate and expand the case of buying, selling, and transporting large amounts of drugs from Van Ho district, Son La to Hanoi, Lang Son, and then to China for consumption with the largest amount of drugs ever, hidden and transported through industrial gas cylinders.

This is a major project directly directed by Major General Nguyen Anh Tuan, Director of Department C47. The project team has identified the ringleader of this network as Nguyen Quoc Hung (32 years old, from Hung Ha district, Thai Binh province). Hung is involved in many transnational networks and is currently the owner of a restaurant and karaoke bar in Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi.

After a period of monitoring, at the end of July 2015, the Task Force arrested 6 subjects delivering and receiving goods in the area near Phu Dong bridge in Co Bi commune, Gia Lam district, Hanoi city.

The subjects include: Nguyen Quoc Hung, Nguyen Hoang Quan (28 years old, residing in Binh Thuy district, Can Tho city), Nghiem Quoc Dung (30 years old, residing in Ngoc Ha ward, Ba Dinh, Hanoi), Nguyen Van Tuyen (44 years old, from Khoai Chau district, Hung Yen), Dam Viet Thang (48 years old) and Loc Minh Duc (37 years old, both residing in Van Lang, Lang Son). The 6 subjects were arrested while delivering the goods.

Checking the truck of suspect Tuyen, the task force seized a reinforced blue painted industrial gas cylinder containing 170 heroin cakes disguised with many household items such as a gas stove, cooking pot, styrofoam box...

The investigation agency conducted an emergency search of the 3-story house rented by Nguyen Quoc Hung. The investigation agency seized 2 pink-painted industrial gas cylinders with the same reinforcement method as above; the first cylinder contained 153 heroin cakes; the second cylinder contained 167 heroin cakes; 2 K59 guns; 1 K59 ammunition box; 1 AR15 gun magazine. The total amount of drug evidence seized was 490 heroin cakes.

Regarding this achievement, General Tran Dai Quang, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, sent letters of commendation to units under C47; a number of units under the General Department of Security; the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Hoa Binh Provincial Police, Hanoi City Police; the Drug Prevention and Control Department of the Coast Guard Command and a number of units under the Ministry of National Defense./.
