Earlier, on the third day of the trial (August 24), defendant Bo Xilai admitted "some responsibility" for the 5 million yuan (equivalent to $800,000) that he was accused of embezzling and which was later found in the accounts of his wife, Gu Kailai.
On the fourth day of the trial (August 25), defendant Bo Xilai continued to deny many charges in the indictment related to bribery, abuse of power, and corruption. In particular, the court considered whether Bo, during his time in office, covered up his wife's poisoning and murder of a British businessman.
