Last weekend, Dubai King Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum sent a Boeing 747 carrying 90 tons of aid worth nearly $450,000 to Haiti, according to 9news.
The aid includes medical supplies, tents, mosquito nets, purified water and a range of other support equipment. The mission is being overseen by Mr Mohammed’s wife, Haya Bint Al Hussein, who traveled to Haiti as part of an International Health Council mission following the 2010 earthquake.
Hurricane Matthew was a powerful storm that formed in late September, traveling across the western Atlantic, devastating Haiti, killing at least 1,000 people and leaving 175,000 homeless, before making landfall in the United States and Canada.
