Result: Real Madrid 4-1 Man City
Goal:Benzema 22', Ronaldo 25', Pepe 44', Cheryshev 73' - Yaya Toure 45' (penalty)
Real Madrid completely dominated the game, scoring four goals against Manchester City. The outcome was practically decided in the first half with three goals shared equally between Benzema, Ronaldo, and Pepe. With their attacks far less effective, Manchester City only managed to salvage some pride from a penalty. Before the match ended, the English team conceded another goal after a tap-in by young midfielder Cheryshev.
This was Real Madrid's second match in the International Champions Cup in Australia this year, and also their second match of the 2015 summer tour. With all three teams having won a match, Rafa Benitez's side are ahead of Manchester City and AS Roma thanks to a more convincing victory. Specifically, Roma and Manchester City both won only on penalties, while Real Madrid was the only team to take the lead within 90 minutes.
According to the International Champions Cup's own point system, Real Madrid also has the highest number of points: 4. Roma is second with 3 points, and Man City is last with 2 points.
In fact, Man City's heavy defeat was no surprise to the fans. Coach Manuel Pellegrini may have anticipated the outcome when he fielded two central defenders with a combined age of only 36, Cameron Humphreys and Jason Denayer, in the starting lineup. With so little experience, these two young players were no match for Real's star-studded attacking trio of Bale, Benzema, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
One of the highlights of Real's play in this match was their exceptionally high effectiveness in aerial balls. All three goals resulted from these situations, with Benzema, Ronaldo, and Pepe all positioning themselves perfectly to finish accurately.

Man City's new signing Raheem Sterling also played but didn't make much of an impact. He earned a penalty in the 45th minute, but replays showed the referee lacked foresight in failing to spot Sterling's handball.
Given a good opportunity from the penalty spot, midfielder Yaya Toure did not miss the chance to salvage some pride for Man City.
After the break, just like the two previous matches in the Australian edition of the International Champions Cup, both teams made numerous substitutions. The only thing that remained unchanged was Real's continued dominance. Taking advantage of this, Cheryshev easily tapped in a close-range finish in the 73rd minute from a perfectly placed cross by Isco, sealing a 4-1 victory.
After this match, Man City will fly to Hanoi to play a friendly match against the Vietnamese national team. The match will take place on July 27th.
